Need UV Glass for MH fixture...

I got a Metal Halide fixture for my tank. The glass is broken. I can't find anywhere that has a piece of UV Tempered glass around here.
I see that DIY kits that sell for $60 have glass with them. It can't be that hard or expensive to get a piece.
Anyone have any ideas where I can get the glass? There aren't any markings on the fixture that tells me who makes it. So I can't even get a hold of the manufacturer.

Any tempered glass will work. You don't need anything special.

Also a question....
From what I understood, SE bulbs have the UV protection in the outer casing.
HQI, or DE bulbs don't. And need the UV protective glass.

The place where i got it said to be sure to get replacement glass.....
What does SE or DE bulb mean?
I've had power compacts for years so I don't know anything about this.

SE- Single End or Mogul type bulbs. Like long skinny regular light bulbs. skrew in.
DE- Double End or HQI type bulbs. Need a specialized fixture that have the contacts on each end of the bulb.

Glass is UV resistant. It basically converts UV to a different wavelength. Tempered glass is desired so that it's less likely to break if it gets splashed. It will still break if you splach enough water on it but it's less likely.
You are correct that the glass casing around SE bulbs reduces the UV to a safe level. DE bulbs should have an additional piece of glass to reduce the UV.

there is a big difference between uv glass and tempered glass running an hqi with out uv glass will kill fish and coral

We'll have to agree to disagree.
3/16" UV glass blocks 90% of UVB, regular tempered glass blocks 80%, thicker glass, intuitively, blocks more.
Both bring UVB far below what would natually stike ocean water. It's not going to kill fish or coral unless they're on the wrong side of the glass.
