Unless you have a lot of experience, and a really established tank where you know how to balance the chemical reactions, then I wouldn't suggest it. However, on the other hand, there are people out there who have done some pretty impossible things. You could have one in a small tank with a really super large sump to make up for the water volume difference. Nems have to have really clean water and a ton of light to survive. Most lights put off too much heat in small aquariums - with too large of temp swings to keep them alive.

I've got a GBTA in my 24 nano, I got him when the tank was only about 2 months old before I knew all the "wives tales" about anemones. (from what I understand BTA's are the easiest to care for, this may have helped)
Apparantley I've just been lucky. It has split and tripled in size since I've gotten it. I attribute its success to the fact that I've got alot of chaeto in the back of my nano sump and feed the tank infrequently so my water quality stays high.

I don't know if agree about nems needing tons of light! I know that's what everyone says.. and technically what they need... But I swear, my GBTA hates light! Every spot he picks is always in the shade and he never like to expand out into the light.. who knows.. maybe they all have personalities?! He's in a 29g.. haven't had a a problem and it's been almost 4 months!

I'm with Meowzer! Mini carpet anemones are great for nanos. Maxi minis are slightly bigger, but are also nice for nanos, unless you're planning on keeping gobies.
