Neon Green Algae

I'm getting this weird neon green algae on my back glass. It is hard, like coraline , and next to impossible to scrape off. I'm also getting little splotches of it where the water from my return line hits the front of the glass. The back of my glass looks like someone painted it neon green.
Any ideas?

lol... yeah. only I didn't paint it neon green :( it's weird, not consistent... looks like the neon green has faded in some parts and the algae has gone away completely in others... but there is still a large swath of it across the back of my tank.

Hey, I have something just like against the glass an 1/2" to an 1" down in the sand on one side of my tank. Yeah, it is very neon green.

that's what I don't get.. my water params are all fine as well. Just wondering if anyone knew what this stuff is. Snails won't get rid of it.
I've read a lot of people on this board that say they have it.. but no one knows how to get rid of it! :)
Cheers!

sounds like coraline.....it doesn't just come in pink purple and red, it can come in green too....I have all of those colors in my tank and the peremeters are fine

Just kinda came out of nowhere.. i've had purple coraline for a year or more now... this stuff just in the last month. Nothing added either... strange.
Thanks for the replies.

I also have that algea, I left it on the back, but I scraped all the rest off with a razor blade. When it was floating around in the water, the fish LOVED it!!
