ok, so this green slime algae.. what can I do to keep it in check?
I don't feed very often, I only have a lionfish and a engineer goby. lion gets fed every 3 days 3 silversides adn the goby gets a few pellets every other day.
All i have is a protien skimmer, but it runs 24/7
I will be hooking up a sump refugium very soon (will this help?)
I ready that chevron, mimic and yellow tangs may eat cyano (which appaerntly is what green slime is a form of. I was allready going to get a good sized yellow tang.
more clean up crew. I have about 18 crabs and 4 snails
my lighting schedule has been a bit out of wack latley. left them on alot longer than normal the past few days while I was out getting christmas stuff.
I have 2 additional t5 lights coming soon. I jsut got a new fixture and its a 6 bulb t5 but 2 of the bulbs were broken in shipping.
Anything else I can do?
Thanks
What are your parameters? Yes, a sump/refugium should definitely help!
I've never had green slime, can you manually remove it with a turkey baster?? Also, more snails would be good.
What size is your tank? What is your water change schedule?
I also reccommend you get a timer for your lights. excess lighting will often promote algae issues.
