Well I started looking for something that i could use as a quarantine, but after the steal of a deal I got on this 12gal Nano, (traded a 1300 gph powerhead I bought for $18)
could not turn up setting up a secondary tank. So far we have some crushed coral for the base, 3 lbs of live rock, 3 damsels(cycling fish), will have a orange spotted goby and a flame angel, any recommendations? Question 2, what is the thing on the rock on the close up, I think it is a small anemone...

first 1lb per gallon is what is recomended
second it is frowned upon to cycle a tank with damsels, it is inhumane
third flame angle needs a 55 gallon tank

I think you can keep a flame for a little while if its a baby, but it will eventually need a larger tank. That anem looks like a manjano. It's a species of Aptasia, kill it just like you would kill your Appies. Good luck. =)

i wouldnt keep the flame since it requires a tank at least 3X what you have. using any fish for cycling is really harsh on them and even though damsels are jerks, you should cycle another way. i looked up the orange spotted goby, it also need a larger tank than you can provide. i would consider other fish to put in that small of a tank. maybe a clown goby or a small blenny.

Well I also have a 55 gal tank to move the Flame to once he is big enough to require the larger area. The tank it self was only holding water over the crushed coral and the rock (as you can see) is every much cured. So it is more to get the bacteria set up in the tank. It should not spike any of the peramiters within harmful ranges for the Damsels. The damsels are also to be sold back to the store I bought them from as well.

I heard about someone that used hot boiling water to inject over the anemone, would this work?

It's supposed to, but I think you need to get the water into the anemone's mouth.....or pretty darn close...LOL
