A dwarf angel a SFE and a dwarf lion would be cool! Are you looking for a HOB skimmer or a In sump skimmer?

for skimmer look into octopus HOB. at aquacave.com and marinesolutionsinc.com. and I am not expert on aggressive fish but maybe a fuzzy dwarf lion a flame angel or a coral beauty angel

Flame angels and coral beauties are over done . I would go for a lemon peel . Amazing looking fish in my opinion . Maybe a fuzzy dwarf lion . But they tend to not be very active other then at dusk and dawn when they are feeding.

You could throw in a few damsels . Thats plenty of light for a fowlr. Basicaly as long as you can see the fish your good to go . I wouldnt do an undulated trigger . It will out grow that tank . I believe a tusk will too . But if your really dont hate them like most do damsels are colorful and semi aggresive .

How about Flame Angel (yeah, they are overdone but still beautiful and hardier than a Lemonpeel), Valentini Puffer, and say 3 Chromis.

I got a similar setup but with a AquaC Remora HOB skimmer, and a small HOB home made fuge, FOWLR. I got a fuzzy dwarf and a spotfin lionfish in the tank. They're great fish, so much personality!

i know i love flame angels i have one in my biocube very active and cool to look at i have a phillipines flame maybe i can get a hawaiian? but i still like the lemon peel look. so how long do they usually live for? valentini puffer sounds cool but i'd rather have a lion or frogfish. chromis a quite peaceful maybe something a little more agressive can i school like 5 different ones?

Even after you stock your tank you will never have a final list. When you run out of room in one tank you start thinking about buying another one. I am in a similar situation with a 60g I'm about to start cycling. I am looking at a dwarf zebra or fu man chu lion, SFE, maroon clown and valentini puffer. I have also given some thought to getting a niger trigger, foxface, flame angel, or just going with damsels. My stock list has changed countless times in the 2 months of planning this tank.

The way I made my HOB Fuge was to use the largest Aquaclear filter. Then I took out all the pads and stuff from the HOB container and replaced them with live rock rubble and some chaeto. I keep the cover off and attached a clip on light to it. Works great! Even with 2 lions my nitrates are below 20.
The AquaC Remora I got was the middle one, I forgot the name. It was $150.

If I were you, I would get a flame angel, or a Golden Angel, or a Midnight angel, or a potters angel.
I would also add in 3-4 blue reef chromis and finally get a wart frogfish.

I have been thinking of doing that same thing but I never knew it could work. What type light did you put on?

Just one of the regular clip-on lights they sell at Lowes with a full spectrum light bulb.

So the total cost was around $80? Also do you set the flow rate at the min, max, or somewhere in between?

For a 45gal tank I set it somewhere in the middle. For a bigger tank you can increase the flow.
