Even after you stock your tank you will never have a final list. When you run out of room in one tank you start thinking about buying another one. I am in a similar situation with a 60g I'm about to start cycling. I am looking at a dwarf zebra or fu man chu lion, SFE, maroon clown and valentini puffer. I have also given some thought to getting a niger trigger, foxface, flame angel, or just going with damsels. My stock list has changed countless times in the 2 months of planning this tank.
no im pretty set on this size tank and dont plan on upgrading until i get my own place maybe in 5 years or so.. but i just want a couple cool fish that people can awww

The way I made my HOB Fuge was to use the largest Aquaclear filter. Then I took out all the pads and stuff from the HOB container and replaced them with live rock rubble and some chaeto. I keep the cover off and attached a clip on light to it. Works great! Even with 2 lions my nitrates are below 20.
The AquaC Remora I got was the middle one, I forgot the name. It was $150.
thats a great idea i have Aquaclear filter hanging around its for a 75 gal so just crush some of my LR and and in some chaeto how much rubble and chaeto do i need and where do i get the light fixture with the correct amount of light for the fuge? can you post pics!! ill definetly look into the AquaC Remora! Thanks

The golden, potters, and midnight angels are very similar to each other as far as care is concerned. I would say the Potters angel is the least aggressive angel, but one of the harder angels to get to eat. The midnight angel will more than likely be the heardiest.
The golden is much rarer and IMO the best of the brood.
All of the angels require very good water conditions. I would make sure that your tank is fully cycled and you put 2-4 chromis in and they are doing very well before you plop in one of the angels.

so did some research it says that they are rare and that the golden cannot be QT and dont get along with aggressive fish. will it get a long with the frogfish? is there a chance the frogfish would eat it?
would a seaclone 100 be a good enough skimmer?
i plan to make the fuge that Rcreation was talking about and i have the fuval and a powerhead filter is this good enough or do i need more things to successfully operate the tank with these rare fish?
Rcreation can you post pics and let me know how much LR rubble and cheato to add in thanks

Sorry I can't post pics, my camera has been acting up lately. But what you do is take out all the filters from the Aquaclear container, then put about 2" of live rock rubble, then the rest chaeto. The chaeto grows pretty fast so once a week I trim it down.

A frogfish tank would be cool, but it should be a species only tank, they will try to anything. Their mouths are very large, and they can swallow fish nearly their own size and sometimes try to swallow fish larger than themselves, resulting in two dead fish.

Ccampbell can you confirm this you told me i should get the wart frogfish, golden angel and some chromis will i end up with only 1 fish down the road or possibly no fish?

the wart and the golden are both rare beautiful fish both up to $150.00 per fish i dont want to lose one or possibly both.

any other hardware or equipment i need to buy before i start it up?

The frogfish that I am thinking of are small like 3-4 inches. There is a potential for them to eat other fish, but the golden angel would be more of a risk to the frogfish.
I would say you will never know till you try. They said I couldnt have more than 1 large angel together and I have 3 of the most aggressive for years now.

I would put in the chromis first, and then add in the wart frogfish. You will know very soon what would survive if the chromis are getting eaten.
I thought my puffer would be ok with a school of 6 chromis because all he ate was krill. Well everyday for 6 days, I was one chromis short.
Keep the chromis and the frogfish together for a month or two and if it all works out, you are golden (pardon the pun) to put the angel in.
As for the equipment, I would put everything in that you wanted to initially put in. The more the better.

The frog fish is going to eat anything that is small enough to fit in its mouth . I think snails will be ok but fish ,shrimp and crabs are going to be toast . Shrimp krill and other meaty foods should be offered on a feeding stick
