I did this one,
Its really realy strong!

Took me a few hours to frame up. And about 3 days of coating, since I coated it with polyurithyne morning and night, to make it waterproof.

Here it is finished with a 72" 125g tank on top. And a 48" 55g sump inside:

As you can see I had lots of room to customize inside, adn do my plumbing leaving lots of room to add extra filtration meiums:

I still haven't added a skin yet. Its more or less for private viewing, IE its not a living room peice.
So for now its wide open allowing me lots of freedom to work inside.
But like any stand, you can pretty much finish it off to your tastes. Ive seen some pretty amazing looking finish work on stands.

King_Neptune,
today I was wondering at work should I biuld new stand my self or modify the one I already have?& I got some Ideas on how to make my won stand,it is a brilliant idea,& I could make it stronger & even look better and most importantly that it will suit my new sump.
So, these picture for your second aquarium that u r planning to make?
You really done a great job, the stand look 1st class & strong. &I liked the steel L joints & your PVC piping.
you really encourage me to make my won stand, I will post my picture when I will start building it.

yup. current stand.
I spent a lot of time reading DIY stands. This one was the strongest looking one.
I had my engineer brother look at it and he said it was structurally sound, and would easily hold the weight of the tank, rock, water, sand.
The key point was the ribs. They are critical to making the spanning truss maintain its peak load bearing ability.
Eventually I plan to have a removable panel to cover the front. I kinda want to have a rustic wood cabin look.
