Was thinking?:
16 gallon Innovative Marine Rimless aquarium
JBJ White Unibody 54 watt led
Tunze Osmolator
Reef Keeper Lite
Tunze Nano skimmer or other type of nano skimmer
Upgrade return pump
can't seem to fine a suitable stand online.
That would work.
I have the Osmolator for my big tank and LOVE it. I have it hooked up to a 32g Brute can and I have to fill it maybe every two weeks.
I would maybe start out with the stock light and then upgrade when you have corals/ clams that would need more light. The most light hungry corals are SPS and most times they will do a lot better in an established tank 9months to a year old.
For a stand you could DIY one. Should not be that hard.

only thing im cluless about really are the led lights. so might just get those later.
do they all change color?
might consider the 30 gallon again because of the matching stand.

would the jbj 54 watt unibody work ok on a 16gallon? i like the clean look.
how does one decide how many wattage they should get?

is putting my tank under the ac vent that's on the ceiling a bad idea.?
What light would be better than the jbj unibody?

Its my understanding that the unibody has a range from 6500k to 20000k.
and some others don't.. like the ones innovative marine sell.
why would anyone buy a light that stays the same, when they can purchase one that changes color?
sorry. but I can't seem to write what I mean.

What are you looking to keep in the tank?? That will help you make a choice on the lighting. IF you are trying to keep a clam and some super light hungry SPS corals, then a more powerful light like the AI's or the JBJ is what your looking for. IF you like the softies and most LPS then the light that comes with the Nuvo works. Budget is one of the the biggest factors in choosing a light IMO. If you got all the money in the world get one of the higher end fixtures. You can dial them up and back, change colors, run programs (thunderstorm and such).
I think the Nuvo line comes with the Skkye light. SO why not start with that. If you find that it is not cutting it then you can change out the fixture.
