I would recommend following Beth's advice. Whenever possible, I believe the breeder's/vendor's advice should be followed. They typically know their animals better than anyone else and deserve the opportunity to resolve any issues. Beth is already going beyond what most would do to get answers.

Dan I agree, She called today, all tests were neg. Nothing found in any of her tanks, but she is still insistant that she replace the horse.

Wow. THAT'S a sign of a fantastic breeder. I think I know where I'm getting my new H. erectus from when the time comes.

Just to let you know...I'm following this
I'm following, too, eagerly and anxiously and with baited breath..... I am dying to hear a sick seahorse success story because we hear WAY too many losses.
I lost my second seahorse to the white tip disease last week.... the first one came down with it about August 20 and died four days into treatment with Furan-2 and the second one came down with it last week and only lasted one day in QT with Furan-2.
I had purchased three at the same time so I'm watching number three very carefully and nervously. The other horses (bought long before these three) and other livestock are doing fine but that could all change in the blink of an eye, too. Never a dull moment in this hobby! Good luck, T!

Sorry to hear we're scaring you off of seahorses but they are as rewarding (ok, more rewarding) than the trouble it takes to keep them healthy. And besides, everyone needs more stress, tension, sleepless nights, and drama in their life, right? Need an emotional rollercoaster? Buy seahorses!

Well I'm in the pretty position of having both of my kids grown and out of the house so until they bless me with grandchildren I need to amuse myself and find things to obsess over . . . thus, the dozens of pets I try to keep up with.
