OK...Everyone know how much I HATE the 250W MH bulbs I have in my 225G tanks
WELLLL....I just ordered 3 250W 14000K PHOENIX BULBS

Actually nothing, I burn piles of money because you know -- my 2 saltwater tanks, 3 parrots, kiddo, etc just don't take enough anymore

On the flip side I can afford it all and if I didn't have everything I'd just sit in the corner and twidle my thumbs all day bored so

WELL I had just replaced my bulbs in July (I think) that's what kills me....spent all that money and I HATED THEM from the start. I said I was gonna hold off until after Christmas and I DID!!!! But they are now ordered

I just recieved the same bulbs you purchaced meowzer for my 210 gallon upgrade I am in the middle of, I never used these bulbs before but they seem to have very good reviews. I have my canopy built the lights installed and fans installed, I just like a couple more things before I can fill it up and start the transfer.

Oh OK, I didn't see you were going from 10 to 14. That is awesome. My sister did the same, huge difference.

If it helps anyone out in the future, I grabbed some "white box" bulbs on the big auction for $18 including shipping (14k MH 175W) from a place that has all kinds of bulbs (mainly photo and aquarium bulbs tho) and the bulb has right on it "HAMILTON 14000K 175W MH U/B" I was expecting a bulb to hold me over until the tank was cycled and I was really ready for corals, but talk about a steal... Lovely color on it too, albeit whiter than most 14K (not yellow at all) I'd call it a 12K which is what I was hoping for but didnt want to pay the extra for :)

Sounds good! You realize, of course, that we're going to need to see "before" and "after" shots of your tank after the new bulbs are in, right??

So...... How goes the Damnsel hunt??

LOL...I just put new pics of the 225G up a week or so ago, so I can use them......AND YES I will definitely put up after pics
Especially if I like them
let's not talk about the damsels

I got my new bulbs

Too bad I can't put them in :(
It takes 2 people to get my lights down, my husband won;t be home for another hour....and I am not going to ask him to help me tonight (aren't I thoughtful)
SOOOO MAYBE tomorrow after work, or since we are both off Friday, I might wait until Friday morning....this way I can change them before they come on, and don;t have to wait for anything to cool

I will look at the little blue boxes for 3 days
