The conch is a great diatom and algae eater...it buries itself in the sand, and cleans "crap" from under and on the sand bed

The orange chestnuts seem to be the hardiest out of all the turbos.... a tough snail. I don't think I've ever lost one. I find they do an awesome job. Lettuce nudi eat more byropsis than the silkier hair algae. I love conchs. It'll be fun to grow him.

Yeah...that's why I got the nudi's...I have noticed some bryopsis in with the HA...I am trying to remove it manually too

I like the conch too...this one is sooo small...lol....that means I will have lots of time with it in the 29G before it gets too big :)

Hope you don't kill your snails with that.... if they start to loose their "stickiness" to the glass. Stop with the magnesium.

OK thanks....What I read is you should be able to safely raise it to 1550...I will keep a close eye on it...I am gonna test it again tomorrow...

I would be careful. I have done this successfully but lost most of my snails. I blacked out the tank also to help and the bryopsis was gone. Just make sure to test on a regular basis and everything will work out.

How high did you raise the mag to??? When you say blacked out...do you just mean turn off lights??? I have corals nad a Squamosa that need light

I was told 1500-1600 but I can't remember the exact number I raised it to. I don't think it was up to 1600 though. I would see how much the bryopsis after you reach a different level. By blacking out i mean turning the tank light off and covering the tank in cardboard so no light gets inside. I blacked it out for 4 days. Don't exceed four days though I don't think the coral could take more than that. I have corals too but no clam so you may want to ask around before you do anything drastic. Good luck. Bryopsis is annoying as heck. Hope everything turns out okay.
