I was in my LFS and I saw it!!!
It cost 457.00 without the light! And another 299.00 for the light! I personally believe that it is sooo expensive, just for the looks.

Its not a rip off if you like rimless tanks. I personally love my tank. My BF has a 265 gal display (approx 400g total setup) in the same room as my solana and my tank looks really sleek and polished. Almost like a piece of display furniture instead of a tank....we're still taking our time to plan this tank out properly. It is going to house very few fish but the ones we do go with are going to be exotic, and we are going with some of the higher end corals as well. right now all corals in the tank are frags from a rock slide that happened in the BF's tank. I'm housing until next frag swap in town. Here are some general pics of my Solana since the ones I posted earlier were from a few weeks ago. My camera's white balance is also way off so don't mind the Purple look!

I think it comes with a top. In the pics above it looks like there are little plastic pieces that are meant for holding a top.

How would you add some moonlights to this? No actinic coloration either are mh's ok colored without actinic. Im asking cause my local lFS has one for 689.99 total and I am thinking about it! :)

I just spoke with the owner of the LFS. He said basically to come in and look at it. He doesnt like the Solana said it doesnt look as good as the pictures and that after he sells the one he has he is not carying another. He swore up and down about buying a RedSea Max. Better filtration its nicer looking in person and he said he is not happy with the Solana lights (Something about them being Chinese made and that he has had a lot of problems with Chinese made HQI's. Wow ive never talked to someone so adamant about not buying something from him. My only thing is the RedSea he has only has 2 x 55 watt T5 power compacts 34 gallon. This seems like to little. Eventually I woud like to add a clam but not with those lights... OH yeah hes asking $899 for it and a stand.

I was wondering about the moonlights too.
I have been doing some research, visiting some LFS and reading this and other forums and I am still undecided about which tank to get. The Solana seems to be a good looking tank (it passed the "wife test" with flying colors), but it's a little bit pricey for a rimless tank, no moonlights and your only choice for light is the HQI.
If you review this and other forums, the RSM has a problem with its protein skimmer and is a little bit loud. Maybe someone reading this could confirm this.
I finally realized that no matter what tank I get, it will have some good things and some bad things. Taking the steps to have the perfect aquarium is a big part of the fun in his hobby.

I was thinking the same thing on behalf of the actinics... HQI only kinda sucks... I think you can make a just as nice tank buying it in pieces and for cheaper!

My LFS in Long Beach Ca. is selling the whole package for $450.
I think the back chamber needs a cover so you don't have to look at that.

I just got this tank about a month ago and i have to say i like it alot, the seamless look is amazing. To answer some questions yes it comes with a glass top and yes the skimmer is very loud. All you really have to do with the skimmer is cut the zip ties holding the power cord and the airline and move the power cord down just a little bit. i dont even hear it anymore. The HQI that i got in the package sucked (come to find out three days later that it was cracked at the ceramic end causing it to fail. I did get a replacement with a Corallife 150 watt 14k bulb and it look amazing. The one thing i didnt like is the waterflow. It is kinda weak but i found if you pull the return pump out it has a dial on the front of it that you can bump it up. I also added a powerhead in the oppsite corner. Seems to have a lot of water movement now. I also added a small 25watt heater that is cranked down im still working on getting the temp to stay at a constant 80 degrees which this far has been a challenge. It will drop down to 78 and go up to 83 degrees. So i droped down the temp on the thermometer and moved the HQI up a little more.
As for the price it cost me 450 out the door. Not really that bad. i will work on getting pictures put up by the weekend. Hope this helps anyone who is looking at this tank. Oh in regards to the Red sea 34 gallon its a LOT more expensive than the Solana and the lights were just not enough for what i wanted to do. Nothing wrong with the tank just a little bit too much money with not enough lighting.

I agree with you, rather expensive. I wasn't overly impressed with the tank itself. But to each their own.
