I am cautiously excited about my fish coming today. This is the fourth time I've ordered a dussimier tang (from 3 different sources). Each time something went wrong before shipping and the fish couldn't be shipped. Unfortunately none of my LFS have been able to get their hands on them. This time it's coming direct from Hawaii, it was definitely shipped and it's supposedly a really nice specimen with adult coloration. I'll post pics on this thread when it comes in. Hopefully it works out this time.

I've only seen one of these in a set-up home tank. It was incredible! Peaceful & very personable for a tang. its hard to believe they so closley resemble the Sohal. I'm sure he'll do well.

Thanks all. Yeah I must really want this fish... leaving for the airport in about 1.5 hours to pick it up. I won't even pick up my wife from the airport!!
I'm definitely not going in to pick up the fish from the gate...

Wives (Most, anyhow) are perfectly capable of getting home from the airport, fish aren't. I've been in DTW enough to know that I'd never leave an unattended fish (or anything else) there for more than a few minutes.

Make sure you keep him in the box until you get home, he will take one look around the greater Detroit Metro area and start screaming "Take me back to Hawaii!!!!"
Sorry, couldn't help it.

Stop in Flint on the way home, then he'll really appreciate D-Town. (I couldn't resist, either.)

You guys are frickin hilarious... surprised you didn't add a riot blast or two in with those knee-slappers.

Everything looks good so far... these guys aren't much to look at when they are stressed but here are a few pics. It's acclimating now and I probably won't have time to post pics in the tank until tomorrow...

BTW, Rob's the man!!

Looks like he'll be fine! Tomorrow he'll be singing that old Country song: "Last night I went to sleep in Dee-troit City, and dreamed about the pineapples back home. I dreamed about my brother, the grouper that ate my Mother......"

Phew, going by the first pic, I had some doubt he was a Duss, but from the second, with the white spike, and yellow at the base of the caudal, definitely is a Duss. Should be a beauty in the tank...

crimzy,
i get my fish from a guy with connections in L.A. and hawaii his divers call him and let him know what they caught or they go looking for a fish someone wants.they fly them here to dfw and i pick them up at the airport.
is that basicly what you are doing?
the fish are always disease free from not sitting at the lfs.
he is holding a white freckle tang for me now because my qt is not cycled yet.
he is another tang that needs to be in the dt and not stressed to get his full color.
the tang you got and mine are a rare find .nice find
good luck
