New fish trap

Been trying to catch my Javanese for months. All attempts have been unsuccessful. It seems I have tried just about everything short of removing all LR and corals. Maybe this one will work. I cut a piece of acrylic the full height of the tank and 10" wide and then cut a 4" X 3" hole in the center. Then added eggcrate guides (used what I had) for the sliding cover. I then put it flush in the corner of my 110g. Hope it works. This idea came from fau8 in another thread.

How is it supposed to work exactly?
And why exactly is your name shaggy balls?
You can tell how it is suppose to work just by looking at it.
Nice idea by the way, hope it works.

Obviously you are wrong. If that were a true statement I would not have asked.

Well if I am wrong let Shaggyblz correct me. He has created a piece of plexy glass with a trap door on the top. The door will close vertically by sliding on the white panel light egg crate. He/she will place the whole piece in the tank with the door opened. Than the hope is that the fish will go inside and than the door can be closed.

And it is only one piece of plexiglass cause he is going to trap it in the corner or the tank....

Exactly, did not think it was that complicated to envision how it will work. Wether it does or not is a whole different subject on it's own.

Well I got that, but I thought he would have to bait it. I just didn't see why a fish would chance to swim in there

Yeah, plus the fact he will have to watch it so he can close the trap door...
Hey Shaggy...keep us informed

I think the feeding part (incentive) was ovious aswell, but seems as if you got the picture though.

It has a sliding door that is tied to a peice of fishing line. When the fish enters, you let go of the line, the door drops. Yeah you do have to stick around and watch, but it was worth it. Nothing else worked. I put the trap in for a day to let the fish get used to it. Then, I started feeding in the trap. Only in the trap. Eventually, all of the fish will enter the trap. It took me two feedings to catch this one.
Shaggy is kind of a nickname. It was already taken. Thought Shaggyblz was funny.
