Hi just bought a new GBTA for my osc clowns and alls it does is curl up and doesnt grab anywhere with its foot so its flying all around my tank right now, shouldnt it grab fairly quickly? I know its alive but is that normal or should I take him back? I have 48 hours.

what do you mean flying around the tank? ow much flow do you have? You may have to turn some of your flow down

What did it look like in the fish store?
Keep your powerheads covered but I would not turn down the flow, I would leave it where it always is and going to be. The nem will find its own spot in time. Just LEAVE IT ALONE in the conditions it will live in. If you lower the flow, it finds a nice place to settle in, then you change the flow it might start roaming again to find a better spot.
I think the mistake most folks make with anemones are to try to get it to do what they want it to do. This stresses the animal and a stressed animal will not find a happy spot.

It was in an overcrowded anemome tanks so it didnt take a foothold their either. My water is great amm 0 nitrite 0 nitrate <10 Ph 8.2 salt 1.023
In an ideal world I probably wouldnt of bought it but I was in the market for one and it was 50% off in the store so I said what the heck worst case I will just baby sit it for two day?
I will see how it looks tonight, I have never had an anenome not grab with its foot for this long I have another pink tip anenome on the otherside of the tank is doing just fine too.
Let me know if you disagree.
Thanks for the help.

BTA are a hardy species. I would agree with spanko and all his advise. Just leave the thing alone and if it was healthy at the store and you are keeping another it will settle in. Be patient my son!

If it was not attached at the store, you shouldn't have bought it. A vety bad sign. How is it doing today?
