Just picked up my first coral - Green Star Polyp. Do I need to wait between adding new corals, like I wait for adding new fish (I usually wait at least a week before introducing new fish). It's about a 5" coral.

In most cases no. However since this is your first coral, you should probably wait a while to make sure it is doing well. If it by chance dies on you or stops looking good, you will know that your tank isn't ready for corals and you shouldn't buy a ton all at once
I bet it'll be fine, but it's better safe than sorry, you know?

No, thats in litres - it's actually about 66 gal. It was a complete set-up with pumps, skimmer, etc. built in. I was looking to start small when I got into SW, but everybody told me the bigger the tank the better. Now I'm hooked & already looking into buying another tank at least a 100 gal.

HOOKED
I can't imagine such a thing

So about the watts...you have 451 watts on that tank?
I was just wondering cause you have to watch what corals you get...a lot require really high lighting. the gsp should be good with your lights though...they require medium lighting

If there is one thing I've learned in such a short time in this hobby - it's patience - so I can definitely wait to add anything else.

There are 6 T5's in all - 3 117W 10,000K & 3 117W Actinic. The set-up is supposed to have enough lighting to maintain a complete coral reef (at least that what Red Sea states) It is quite bright. I had to cut out allot of the picture size to be able to post it (before I added the GSP)

Looks good...you should be able to keep quite a bit....Has your GSP opened up? Mine took almost a week before it fully opened...I even called the guy I got it from and I told him he sold me a crappy coral (I knew he wouldn't do that..LOL) REMEMBER..SW=PATIENCE

Thank you - I still plan on buying a bit more LR. The GSP opened up about 3/4 of the way already. My cleaner shrimp keeps checking it out & then it retracts.

I am a relative newbie so factor that in to my response.
Adding in more than one coral at a time is not generally an issue.
That said, as previously stated you may want to start slow for cost control in case there is a problem.
Here is where I may differ. Do not assume that because one coral does poorly that your tank is not coral ready.
There can be a host of reasons why any single coral does not thrive, and suggesting one failure means the tank is not ready would be too black or white.
If I have learned anything in my short time with the hobby, there are very few things that are black or white.
