Gorgeous Hawaiian Blackfoot. Is he converted already?
Dang! I was gonna just call it a lionfish to try and beat the seach engines. It's a Parapterois heterurus, frequently collected from temperate waters. This one, however, was collected from Cebu and we know the Bay it came from. From peeps who have dived and seen these lions in this area say the water is mid to lower 70s.... not temperate. If we did not specifically know this information we would never have picked these up. If you do not know the source... pass them by. We know who handled these fish and comes very highly recommended. So, we are going to give it a shot because of these extra little things. Again, we would have just passed them by if we had of just run across them in the store without any information. These babies didn't even come out of the bag. Straight to their new home :)
No, not converted yet. Just got them last night. They eat just like the Fu Manchu.

LOL... Ya, I saw that after the fact. Slip of the tongue.... err.... finger. I don't think they'll be staying together. They remind me too much of the Fu Manchu.... I bet they'll fight.

I doubt... they look like the species that will fight. My least fav is the one that is handing out meaness to my fav (the first one). Gonna get tank #2 ready just in case. Where these are difficult to come by, I need to be on the safer side here.

Every time I see pics of your lionfish, my husband gets more and more angry at you.
I want a fish only tank with a lion so much, but we just don't have the room right now. One year left 'til the house is ready and the move is complete and then yes, there will be tanks EVERYWHERE.
