Shame on McCain!
Ahhh, now I get to correct Geridoc. All is right again in my world after he corrected me earlier.
*The Bill was a State bill. Romney had nothing to do with it.
Here is a link to the actual Bill: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/full...cSess=&Session
Note a couple of things of importance:
*It begins with "K" and ends with "12".
*The subject matter at hand.
Obama is now trying to spin this as "predator avoidance" but the reality is that is a very small part of the overall Bill. Further, Obama's interviews from the same time period show he was for se x Education in the classroom, not just predator avoidance.
Sadly, as is typical, people are listening and repeating the spin rather than looking to the source to form their own conclusions.

There is video of Obama talking about that bill, and him saying that it is "the right thing to do" when discussing education.
Anyone think it is funny this is one of the bills he felt strongly enough about to vote yes for...

The add we're currently discussing is 100% accurate, as one example.
100% accurate??? I read the Bill. Please cite any section that legislates that Kindergardeners SHALL learn --- education. My reading is that this simply addresses the content of those courses where offered in grades K - 12. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just one question... does McCain have ANY ads that are complete truths, without exaggerations or fabrications?

I guess these are the tactics that he needs to win the White House. But I'm sure he'll be more honest when he's in office.

OMG Crimz, you are really not relying on an Air America host as a source of factual information! That would be like us on the other side linking to Rush Limbaugh.

Note that on the bill 6 is struck through which means it is removed. Pretty plain language
13 " Each class or course in comprehensive ---
14 education offered in any of grades K 6 through 12 shall
15 include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted
16 infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread
17 of HIV AIDS. Nothing in this Section prohibits instruction in
18 sanitation, hygiene or traditional courses in biology."

So you sound like you are agreeing with me... this bill was to legislate the CONTENT of s-e-x ed classes where they are offered.
Still waiting for a someone to show me a single sentence in the bill where it PROMOTES teaching s-e-x ed to children before they can read, as alleged by McCain's ad.
Reefraff, Streb, Journey... a single sentence to show that McCain's ad is even slightly accurate please.

Edited about 15 minutes later...
Still waiting guys.
I'll admit that I just skimmed the bill. Surely some smart republicans like you guys can find a SINGLE SENTENCE PROMOTING
S-E-X EDUCATION BEING TAUGHT TO KINDERGARDENERS, as alleged by McCain.

I think that I can actually hear crickets chirping...

I'm honestly not sure what you are asking for Crimzy. Are you arguing that Se x Ed classes weren't going to be offered in K classes, or that they were already being offered?
Obama said, in 2003 "But it’s the right thing to do, to provide age-appropriate --- education, science-based --- education in schools."

The bill was linked to and I posted the language. If you don't want to read it thats your problem.

McCains ads are more accurate and honest than Obus saying McCain wanted a 100 year war in Iraq

Guys, this isn't rocket science. You are arguiing that the ad is accurate, right or wrong? This ad claims that Obama, by voting for this bill, supports teaching s-e-x education to Kindergardeners, right or wrong? Are we all together thus far?
So all I want to know is where do you see language in this bill that requires, or even recommends that s-e-x education be taught to kindergardeners. Reefraff, you quoted a section that identified what these classes should include. To that, I agree, this bill legislates the content of s-e-x education classes and provides for the parents to pull their children out of the classes. The section you quote clearly summarizes the point of the Bill, which is not to encourage the class but, where it is used, to legislate the content and parents' rights. Nowhere in that quote is there any suggestion that s-e-x education should be taught to kindergardeners.
But I have yet to see a single sentence that actually PROMOTES, or REQUIRES, or RECOMMENDS that s-e-x education be taught to kindergardeners as McCain's ad suggested. Not trying to confuse anybody here... but I don't think I'm asking anyone to split the atom. Just want to see where the Bill says what you suggest.

Oh yeah... this is exactly the same as claiming that Obama supports teaching s-e-x education to kindergardeners.

This comment was made when an opponent brought up his vote for the Bill Crimzy.

If Obama didn't support teaching s-ex ed to Kindergartners why in the hell would he vote for a bill that specifically authorized it? Obama either supports it or is too stupid to even be a state senator.
