oh yeah and i have good news!!! my friend works at a pet store and he is going to get me t5 lighting for cheap and pay for most of it because its my birthday this month!!!!

T5s and halides are way better... shimmer AND even coverage.. pc is something you don't do unless you HAVE to.
Cool friend to hook you up like that, hopefully its not that 2 bulb nonreflected coralife one though... slap him if it is. You want something thats individually reflected.
Actually I got to thinking in the last 20 seconds... on a 10gallon, get a 70w K2 viper fixture. It'll be more efficient since sub 24inch T5HOs aren't that efficient and there aren't many bulb choices.

Good, individually reflected T5HOs have a much higher PAR output that PCs and put out about the same light as most MHs in shallower tanks (<24inches.) Albeit using less electricity and producing less heat in most cases.

chiller is more than likely going to cost more than the light... MY JBJ 1/15 mini arctica was $335 after tax (a steal back then for new) and I bought a maxijet1200 for it.. so more money and then the $20 easy plumbing kit for it...
