you know if the rock is cured if its in an established tank. and yea you can put chaeto in the filter. they can grow with the room light also. not fast but they will grow. i wouldnt recommend putting lr crushed. just with the chaeto your good.

my rock came from an established tank at my lfs so.... i guess its cured. what about the shrimp thing?

well if you bought it were all the rocks are then no its not lol. when i mean establish i mean like it came from my tank. with corals and fish in the tank. like my rock is cured. the lfs rock is not. and the shrimp is to start your cycle. and no just add chaeto to help you out a bit

okay okay... well then i guess i cant get cured rock. well i guess ill see if i can get some chaeto from my lfs. would you recommend the shrimp or should i just let it go?

i forgot about this bright a** clip on light i can use for my filter!!! so ill have to get some chaeto this weekend!! i hope it speeds up the process!! i want to get CUC already!!

lol. well what i dont get is that your ammonia is high and your nitrate is low. nitrate are caused by ammonia! and since your ammonia is high your trate should be high as well. have you done a water change?

ok. well yea man. relax lol. its only been two days and you want to add stuff. well my tank cycled in a week because i used cured lr and ls. plus my fuge. but you are starting brand new. yea chaeto will help. but ask you friend to give you a cured lr to help you out to cycle your tank. it will help. and you dont need to do a water change. forget that. keep waiting

i got one of my rocks out of a tank that had coral in it. but they dont have a big selection. my college is in a small town so its only one fish store and its small. the next best one is 30 minutes away and they are expensive. that is where i used to go when i lived at home but i cant afford to do that with gas any every thing
