aha i finally found a dealer of cuttlefish. The bad part is the only live about 1 year in warm water and 2 in cold. I dont really know if tis worth it but i think it might be. Theyre pretty awesome though. I did somelooking at dif species of octo aw2 and didnt find any that lookd like yours. i dont know if it changes colors as it gets older or what.

Yeah, I did some searching and have talked to friends that have kept Dwarfs. This guy definately isnt a Dwarf. Those who have kept them...numerous specimens over several years have all told me that Dwarf Octo hardly, if ever, come out of hiding. They'll typically find one spot and stay there.
I'm thinking this one might be O. Vulgaris, but I'm not sure...still researching.

I'm assuming you're talking about Tonmo.
I already have a post there, with the same pics I posted tonight.

I've had one person post, saying they thought it was some type of Dwarf, but I dont think it is.
The bad thing about that place is it can take days, if not weeks, to get an answer for a very simple question.
When I first wanted to keep octos, I went there religiously and asked questions of everyone. After waiting 4 - 5 days for a simple question, I stopped going.

ah yes I was haunting it too for a while but its very slow to get answers. I check in on it every couple of weeks now. O.vulgarus . they get pretty good sized don't they? Well bigger than a bimac right.
AW any suggestions on chillers ? I was looking thru a catalog from my " doctors " tonight and there was a few but they were outragously priced. there was one that was about 300 and it was electrical in nature something about ions or something to cool the water and the others were well over 1000 bucks and were chemical cooled like a fridge .I had herd someplace you can DIY with a cooling unit out of one of the little dorm fridges?

You can usually check on the great auction site and find them there. My buddy James picked up some for like $100...he has 6 - 8 of them.
I'll find out tomorrow where he got them.
I may not be around much, after tomorrow. I'm moving 5.5 hours away and this weekend is when it's happening. My dad and uncle are coming up tomorrow night and planning on being done Sat night.
I may not be back online till Monday.

I'm not getting one but i read that you have to walk by the tank slowly that the octopus is in or they will ink the water causing you to have to do a drastic water change is this true or has it ever happened to you...... im sticking with my eel for know
