So here are the latest fosters. The mom, Annie, is gorgeous! Plus she is a wonderful dog, she is trained and starting to come out of her shell and follows me around. There was only one pup with her, Carl. How Carl and Annie are related I have no idea.

No worries T3, that Raccoon has been playing Opossum for years.

The story we were told was that these two were brought in when Carl was one day old. They were in the pound since then and she was on the "red list" because she was growling at people. She was also supposed to be 10 months old when she was brought in.
It took a couple of days for her to come out of her shell and start trusting and liking us. She is very well trained and pretty mellow, we are not sure if she is only one year old. However she has become more playful so starting to believe she is a youg'un. We think she has a lot of Australian Shepard in her, not sure what else. They say Carl looks like a pit bull.

The pup is cute. We are looking to get a second mutt. I was just thinking Thousand Oaks isn't that far of a drive but the city I live in doesn't allow pits

Scott...I don't want to alarm you, but there is a "racoon" in your yard

The raccoon by its self is not alarming. Its the fact that it seams to be assaulting a Squirrel that is bothering me .
By the way Scott Cute puppy.

T3, they are mom and son. At least that is what they tell us. With this fostering thing I think we can really only believe about 80% of what we are told.
Guap, good eyes man. I saw your post and was going to say that we have a squirrel just like the raccoon, even looked outside and saw it. Then I realized you saw it in the picture.
Although the real squirrel that lives in our backyard drives my dogs CRAZY!!!
Jenny, They will get good homes. The person that we work with makes sure of that. She goes too far as far as we are concerned, but we know she will find them a good home.
I think we need some kittens next.

The puppy is not a pitbull. hair is way too long. It does have a boxy face though. As do many pups when that small.

It's possible the pup is related since the coat does look longer than a pit's. That could be the aspect that the pup picked up from momma.
I like the momma dog. She's pretty. I've always had a soft spot for the working class dog. I miss my blue healer.

I have no idea what Carl is. Usually if there is a stray pup in this area it is either part chiuahua (However you spell it) or Pit.
Hey this is mom and pups, so who knows what papa was?

I'm guessing those pups in the last pic are 100% true blue heinz 57 pups! lol The momma is definitely a mix. The dad could be beagle...basset hound...hard telling. There are quite a few options with that color scheme.

I would say that Carl is more chocolate lab than pit...
I would concur. I have had had clients send in their dogs dna for testing to see what they are mixed with. sometimes they came back with strange results. case in point, a pit mix came back mixed with german shepard, great pyrnese, alaskan malamute and beagle.
Looked like a pit.........

most people get dogs confused with pit mixes as they tend to look like a few other dogs. American Bulldogs for one mixed with something and people will think pit bull. Some people think American Bulldogs are oversized pit bulls. A true pit bull doesnt get much bigger than 60 pounds. Male or female, Yes there are exceptions. When some jackass says they have a 100 pound pit its mixed with something else.
Now could it be a pit mix its possible. The arms are very thick for a puppy and the face has that red nose pit look too it.
