omg.....so what does Fuzzie dog and Fred think about this??? Baby is darling, head doesn't seem to fit the "pit" look. (at least from these pics) Love those eyes. Mommy looks like she has a lot of Aust. sheppard...she has a lot of similar features as my sis in laws.
No more kittens, Fred may just leave.

On October 24, 2005, The Aurora City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting the following breeds of dogs and/or any dog exhibiting distinguishing characteristics that substantially conform to the standards for any of these breeds:
American Pit Bull Terrier
American Staffordshire Terrier
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
American Bulldog
Canary Dog (Presa Canario)
Cane Corso
Dogo Argentino
Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff)
Presa Mallorquin
Tosa (Tosa Inu)

I can not tell what pups are when they are this small. Especially when they are first born they just look like hamsters. We got Carl when he was about a month old so we said he looks just like a guinea pig. He does have the wrinkled nose, it is hard to see in the pictures. Poor little dude was in a cage with only his mom for a month so he does not really know how to play.
We were wondering how Margie would do with fosters since this is the first ones we have had since we kept her. She has actually done fine, she plays with Annie and tries to play with Carl.
The thing about pups is that when they get older (like Carl) they poop all over the place and get destructive. Kittens do use the litter box and are not as destructive. Plus we have not had kittens for a couple of years now.

I see why they are doing it as they could hide a pit bull under a different breed standard but that is bullshit. American Bull dogs are awesome dogs. They might as well throw The Boxer in that mix. Id never live there if a City would enforce laws like that. Who are they too control what I own as far as a dog? Its not like I have a lion. At least they nailed aboyt every breed that looks like them. The Presa is one badass dog

I am familiar with some of those breeds and I think the strongest thing any other them have in common is they look like a Pit. Kind of a shame because if you get a pit that hasn't been taught to fold, spindle and mutilate they are great dogs.
I don't want to get into the politics of it in Scotts thread but I do think there are better ways of solving the problem than banning them.
I still want the puppy

Its the last one you think it will be.

its threw me off a little as some of the pictures are at different angle and they make the dogs look smaller. I got it on my 3rd pick. That just shows you how they get mixed up like I said earlier. I feel I have a very solid knowledge of the breed and I still got it wrong. Pics can be mis leading as the Boerbol pick #23 is a horrible picture to show off the breed. That dog looks nothing like they should. The standard is a box head that has black throught the nose and the ears are black that fade out. Plus 95% of the time the tail is half docked. I was actually going to get one but they arent very active dogs.

I have no idea what Carl is. Usually if there is a stray pup in this area it is either part chiuahua (However you spell it) or Pit.
Hey this is mom and pups, so who knows what papa was?

Just saw this pic. Years ago we had a Boarder Collie/Red Heeler cross and the mom and pups looked just about like that when we picked them up. That was one stout dog. My brother had a Bulldog cross that was one serious bad boy and the heeler cross wouldn't back down at about 6 months old. Got his butt kicked but he wouldn't back down.

You are doing very well...don't go back to the dark side...

Yeah but they are fun to play with when they are that size.
Although right now we are about half a step away from getting a chiuahua (You know what I mean.) that has two broken front legs. Just nurse it back to health and then let someone else take it from there.

Update.
Still have Carl and Annie, so since we have a full house we of course decided to squeeze in another one. Hailey is an Australian red border collie. Just an absolutely gorgeous dog, and very people friendly also. In fact she makes it hard to walk downstairs because she keeps getting in my way. I say downstairs because she is deathly afraid of the stairs and I have to carry her up and down them. Well since Annie hangs around with Hailey I just leave her downstairs most of the time.
Here is part of the herd.

I think mom looks like a border collie, especially since they come in so many flavors. Although most around here including mine are just black and white, I was just watching the Scottish sheep dog championships and almost all of them had those brown markings on them. My cattle dog came from a rescue organization and she has really been a great dog for one that nobody else including the previous two owners wanted, so thanks for the work you do, giving these dogs a second chance.

You know I am used to these new dogs eating some things and sure mamma and puppy just chewed up a library book that I will have to pay for. What REALLY gets me is that they at the back part of the book, so now I won't know who did it!
