I have heard that this is quite common with powder brown and blues. It should go away. They stress easily

Do you have a quarantine tank?? You really should QT everything before putting in your DT. Especially tangs, as they are known to be more prone to ick!! If you know this already, my apologies, I just hate to see you post a thread in a couple of days about ick in your tank!!
Hope all is good and would love to see a pic. Tangs are beautiful!! Congrats!!

Ok, don't panic. Is he in the tank yet? or still acclimating? Are you drip acclimating?? Is he in the bag or do you have some sort of tub/bucket that you use for this?? Maybe you could make that into qt, if it's large enough!

Maybe someone else will come on here with some better advice!!

I agree here that you may want to think about making a qt for the fish oout of what you have available...you can use tank water from your tank....
This way you can watch it and see....I also would hate to see you infect your whole tank with ich

i was acclimating with him still in the bag when i saw the spots. so i left him in the bag. and i was thinking of returning him if they would let me

HMMMM...I'd hate to leave it in the bag all night.....do you have a cooler or something that you can put it in with a small powerhead???/

is ich easy 2 see or do u have 2 look really hard because the spots on the tang are hard 2 see but you can see them if you look really hard

Go to the disease section, and look at the pics at the top of ich...see if it looks like what you are seeing

Also, you don't neccesarily have to return him. If you can make a qt out of something, you can treat him for the ich(if he does have it) and add him to your tank later. It's just that, if you put him in the tank now, you will have to pull out all your fish to treat later.
Check out the disease forum on this site. Lots of info on this. You will get a better idea of what you want to do.

yes i will make one in the morning. how long will he have 2 be in there. also the bag is still in the tank and i saw my yellow tang trying to hit the bag with his tail does this mean they wont get along

About 6 weeks....you will need a filter too,
also in the disease section is the treatment of ich by hyposalinity, and a lot of info about setting up a qt...

Possibly. Yellow tangs can be aggressive to new tangs introduced to the tank. He might boss the other one around a little and then back off. What is the size difference between the two?
Good luck with the ich!
