YAYYYY...My new RO/DI unit arrived today...(A REAL ONE) AS hubby reads the instructions I wonder what will be involved with hooking it up????
He mentioned making me an auto-top off system directly plumbed (under house) to sump...

I hope this works...any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

Make sure you have some laundry ready to do or dishes or plants to water. LOL the amount of waste water that comes out is crazy and you'll want to find something to use the waste water for.( Unless you dont mind watching your water bill go straight to the drain lol) Well really its not waste just not marine safe. I fill up the washer with the water and try and do the dishes. Just some ideas for you lol.

That's funny...I just read that thread a little while ago and was telling my husband what everyone does with their "waste" water...

Congrats meowzer,

You will love it!

I use an auto top off plumbed to my refugium and it is the best thing you will ever do, hands down.

I hope you can make this out, it is on return side of the refugium.
I guess if you wanted to drill a hole through the refugium wall you could eliminate the bracket, I just didn't want to drill my refugium wall.

The pump in the picture (Supreme Classic Model 5, 500GPH)
is the return pump for my Display tank, not for the RO/DI unit. I am using the water pressure from the RO/DI unit to feed the float valve top off.
I don't have a problem with water pressure. The RO/DI unit is in my basement and it feeds TWO float valves, one for my DT located upstairs and one for my salt water storage tank in the basement.
I have heard people need a pump for the RO/DI unit but I don't know why.My city water pressure is all I need.

There isn't a tremendous amount of pressure, but I'm not trying to put out a fire, just replace evaporated water.

I was just reading your tiny thread about your sump/refugium
, good pics, and your float should go in the same compartment as your return pump, the same as mine.
Adjust the float while the pump is running.
You wont believe how you ever got by before.
Ok, bed time(EST in Dayton,Oh) now for all old people, later.........
