New Sand

Hi all I need to know I have a 65 gallon reef about 15 months old can I add new sand on the bottom to the tank to fill in the emipty spots or will it harm the tank. (Jawfish love too dig.)

What kind of sand? Dry aragonite sand can cause Carbonate to precipitate along with Calcium. That can be harmful. Silica sand won't cause problems.
