New setup, what do you think?

Actually the front will have trim, just have not done that yet. I 'm making that room an entertainment area...big screen, bar, etc, so In order to do that I have to knock down a small wall to enlarge the space. Figured I'd do that at the same time. To tell you the truth it does look pretty good without the trim.
Thanks

spmnarciso, nice setup by the way!!! i have the oceanmotion squirt and was wondering what you thought of running a closed loop on the top of the tank, i guessing i can run up to 4 lines , my choices are using a mag 7 or a mag 3, i have a quiet 1 4000 right now and my overflows can probally handle 500 each, it's a hang on with the double u tubes, so i'm thinking of running a loop so i dont flood the tank, would this still happen running it this way??... my other question is on running your r/o setup, do you have a pump in your tank to run to your tank, i want to set mine up sim to yours when i get mine in next week, thanks for all the help.

Brad

I lost a couple before the move. Never really found out how, about 5 really nice pieces just bleached on me, mostly the montis, the acros are still ok. One of the plating montis was really looking good and getting big. Maybe when I finally get around to setting up the rockscape, we can get together, that is, if you have any frags to donate.
Thanks

Nice work!!! Especially the plumbing; all of those valves and unions must have cost a fortune!
A few questions:
How is working on the tank with no front access and a 30" width? Any problems?
What skimmer are you upgrading to?
How is the fish room ventilated?

Not as easy as I originally thought it was going to be, but do-able. I'm actually in the process of building an affixed ladder system on each side in order to work comfortably in the tank.
What skimmer are you upgrading to?
Not upgrading, just adding. MR3 by My Reef Creations (beckett)
How is the fish room ventilated?
The room is not closed off at the moment, so ventilation isn't a huge concern, however when my electrician finds the time in the coming weeks he will be installing a temperature-sensored ventilation fan that shoots outside.

I'm not sure what you mean by mentioning your overflow, a closed loop draws water from the tank and shoots it right back in. For instance, if you wanted to you could build a plumbing formation that takes water half way down in your tank (1" pipe) and takes it externally to the input of your pump and then through the OM and out to 4 locations (3/4" pipe) in your display all through the top. Not sure if that is what you mean...please clarify!
As for the R/O setup, I have a tee on the pure water output that send water to my evaporation reservoir, or my open water change container. They are both 55G drums. I placed a heater and a Mag7 at the bottom to heat and circulate the water. When the time is ready to do a water change, I hook up a 3/4 flex tube to the output of the pump and shoot it into my sump (after it has been emptied, of course)

for the closed loop desigh i was going to run 3/4" tube from the bottom of the oceanmotion down to the mag pump, back up to oceanmotion, then divert through the other chanels. i'm running this over the top of the tank bacause i dont have a drilled tank. i think i see what your saying about running the 1" pipe to the bottom of the tank, but i was thinking of running it externally, will that make any difference how much the pump will draw from the tank, hope this isn't too confusing:confused:

I didn't mean placing the pump in the tank, just drawing water from the tank. They sell perforated tubing, use that for a screen on the "suction tube". I would then build some type of platform to suspend the pump alittle closer to top to reduce head pressure and the amount of work the pump has to do for suction. Then attach the OM to the pump and go from there.
Get it?
Let me know if we are totally missing each others points.
