I just want to say your tank is so awesome. I just can't get over how beautiful it is. I always worry about filtration and lighting and you give me hope that my tank will look like yours maybe eventually. I am so glad you posted pics. Breathtaking just doesn't seem to say it all.

see what i mean about my pom pom garden

Its kind of creepy how the hippo tang is in almost the same spot in both pics! Nice tank. What do you use for substrate?

Tank is looking great, Steve.

I liked your substrate so much, that is what I used in my little aquapod.

Is a 48" 260W (4-65 watt) Dual Strip Compact Fluorescent Light Fixture good enough for the type of corals you have in that tank?

How did you put a hippo tang in a 55 gal? I thought they needed like 75 gals or more?
IMO they do need to be in a bigger tank, this one was tiny when i got it and is just now about the same size as my clown...

i started my tank with 260w of PC lighting. that is enought lighting for "most" of the corals i have. after i upgraded my light i ended up getting a few SPS. the monti cap in the fifth pic i had with the PC light and it did "ok" now under the T5s is when it really started to grow and thrive ...
thanks joncat ... do you like the sand ?
