i just got back in sw tanks i have a 55gal my question is i have 3 emerald crabs in my tank now for 2 weeks they are molting i think all three have like a white cocoon around them and they are just clinging on the live rock are they molting or what can somebody tell me if i need to do anything to them?

When they molt, all you should see is an empty shell......cocoon????

I have never heard of emeralds having a cocoon.

It should look like an empty shell.....I have never had any of mine have a film or a cocoon
You might want to take one out to check it up close

I'm pretty sure their dead. I've seen the cocoon like web in my tank a few times over the years and everytime the fish/invert has been dead. I'd pull them out. Probably won't be much left at this point. I'm not sure what makes the cocoon, but it's like of like when a spider kills something.
