i was hopeing someone here might be able to help me out?
i got a 72 bowfront tank with a 75 eshoppe filter, a submerged 700gph pump with a 3/4" return line and a 1" drain line. It looks likes the pump is pumping to much because the water is over flowing the drip try in the filter and spitting out the side releaf holes and its very noisy with being in the living room right by our couch is bathering me like crazy i was goona maby seel the back of the stand up with something to try and quiet it but not sure if that will hurt the tank any..
thanks for any help...

Sounds like the pump is a little too strong. You can add a valve onto the return line to slow it down a bit. Some people close up their stand and use sound proofing material on the ********.

Will that hurt my filtration thu slowing down the cycle?
i was gonna do something under the tank to seal it up but wasnt sure if that was a good idea due to air circulation. but im gonna go for it..
Thanks

i think i just fixed one of my issues, it looked like the drip try was kinda poorly made there was only about 18 small holes so the water could not pass tru the holes quick enough so it would over flow into the other section of the sump where the "clean" water was with out passing thu the filter. So i just drilled the holes out a little bigger and adding a few more and now no more over flowing the drip tray and all the water comeing into the sump is now passing thu the filter. feeling so proud of myself right now!! lol
