NFC Championship Fact...interesting
Sunday will be the 11th time that a conference championship game featured the top offense and defense in the conference. In the previous 10 games, the club with the best offense won seven times.

the new and improved "greatest show on turf"... yup and in 1999 the Bucs fell to the Rams... 3 to 5 going into half... 13 - 8 final score... to this day i still say Emanual had that ball... hence the rule change the next year...

You had no pride...Baltimore LET THEM keep nothing. THe NFL struck the deal with the City of CLeveland so the name and colors would remain..and they would get a team in 3 years. Rest assured when they moved Baltimore would gladly have taken the colors and name. You LET them keep nothing. The deal was with the NFL...Baltimore had ZERO to do with it.
Just setting the record straight.

REX GROSSMAN RESCUES BABY IN BURNING BUILDING; OVERTHROWS WAITING FIREFIGHTERS - Baby's tearful Dad admits, "I knew little Joey was a goner as soon as Rex pump-faked. Why couldn't Peyton Manning have been walking by instead?"

Take the beating like a man and admit that the INDIANAPOLIS Colts were the better team than the loud mouthed Ravens.
I'll be waiting....... :hilarious

I can man up. Im right here. And there is no way the Colts are better than the Ravens but there were on that day!!! But thats the beaut of the NFL. Any given day!
It's been a rough week here in Bmore due to some unexpected flat play by our usually solid Offensive Line. Seems they couldn't keep Mcnair upright. Defense played great. I was on the 10 yard line 23 rows up when Mcnair threw the pick on the goaline and it was one of the most devastating things ive seen in that stadium. You could see it happen in slow motion.
After the game I had to go play a show in a bar/club and after saturday was out of commission for 3 days and had no voice on top of it. But I'm recovered. We still had a great season goin 13-3 and bringing just about everone back for next year.
Now I can't figure out who I want to lose more in the AFC title game. :help:
I almost find myself rooting for Peyton Manning just because I can't stomach the thought of Brady going to another Superbowl.

I'm not so sure they will be. They needed to get farther this year as they are not that young at several key positions. Colts right now are the better team given the level of play of their defense.
You only need look at Pitt last year. They backed into the playoffs then went on a run. Indy right now reminds me of Pitt last year. You can toss regular season play out the window in the playoffs. Baltimore had a SOLID regular season as did San Diego. But, when the second season started they both spit the bit.
Since they could not get it done this year, bringing everyone back is not the answer. They need to get better..and younger in some key positions.
The early season crowning of the GREAT Bears may make some eat a little crow this weekend should they lose.

"Now, if you want to crown them, then crown (them)! But they are who they thought they were! And we let them off the hook!"
that Rex joke made me laugh out loud too... :hilarious

everyone i have asked "who is going to the Super Bowl?" has replied "i would like to see the Colts vs. Saints" there are a few bears fans that i havent asked, but even on local radio people are pulling for Colts/Saints SB...

It is the most interesting matchup. Two differnt teams....one never playing in a SUper Bowl (Colts did when they were in Baltimore).
Now that the Saints/Bears game is near....I gotta strong feeling the Saints will win. I felt going into last weeks games the winner of Saints/Eagles would make it to the SB.
Should the Saints get out of the gate fast tomorrow....it could be a long day for Rex and the Bears.
Pats/Colts may be the close game of the day. Since the Colts are at home....I gotta beleive they get the job done tomorrow.
I still would have liked to see Saints/Chargers....but Indy/Saints is also a good matchup.
If it turns out to be Colts/Bears that would be good as I would like to see Manning get his ring. Pats/Bears does not interest me that much.......and I have no idea who I would even pull for in that game.
Since most of Amreica is rooting for the Saints.....it would be great if they could reach the SB. That would be the top sports Cinderalla story since miracle on ice. You could even argue it is a better story given the events of Katrina. I think most of America is pulling for the Saints...with the exception of the Chicago fans. Also, the Philly/Saints game set a playoff record for # of viewers last week. Proof that the Saints are becoming America's Team...at least for this year.
Like you RU....all the folks I have chatted with here in town that are fans of other teams (with the exception of Bears) are all rooting for the Saints. it's a remarkable story...and after 40 years and many memories of losing....it remains hard for me to beleive.

sorry Scuba... the Saints just couldnt get it goin... i think that safety is what did them in...
kinda sad how after the game Aikman and Buck were sayin what a great game Grossman had... must have been a feat for him to hand the ball off...

11 of 26 for 144... ya thats a great game... esp when both your RB's had more carries than Grossman had completions...
like i said... it must be tough to hand it off...
but the Bears won and that is that... good luck in the SB...

He made the passes when he needed to, that's what counts. The running game was dominate so Rex didn't have to have a monster game in order for the Bears to win. He didn't make any mistakes and allowed the D to do what it does best, take the ball away and put the offense in good position.

yup... put it in position so Rex doesnt have to throw... that is exactly what the Bears needed... and thats what they got...
Bears Defense played a stellar game indeed...

where do you get Brees threw 4 INTs??? he had 354 yds 2 tds and 1 int... the down part of the Saints O (or the up point of the Bears D) was the rushing game... or lack there of to put it better... the Bears shut McCallister down...
