ALso the hit on Ben whne his arm was injured....I thought could have been called a fumble. It was close....close enough that if the fix was in those calls would have gone the opposite way.
NFL Network just reviewed the interception.....they scratched their head but beleive the interpretation had to be the football move was not complete unitl the knee was off the ground...we'll still have to wait.

When did the whistle blow?

The whistle blew to stop the play before the snap. So it had to either be a false start or offsides making contact with the other player.

They would be more inclined to favor the big market teams if I am to beleive your theory. What is gained financially? The networks have already paid their contract fees for the year. The game is a sell-out. The ONLY thing gained would be some dollars off of merchandising.
This would favor a team such as Dallas with a large fan base.
The checks have already been written to the NFL by the networks...what is gained financially?

If contact was made and the whistle blew before......no penalty. When did it blow...did you hear it?
The officials on the side ran in quickly..

It doesn't matter about the whistle... they stopped the play. It could only be offsides w/contact or false start.

there is no such thing as a no call!!! either someone moved or the D encroached was in the neutral zone or they were offsides...
I beleive the nfl is still the only major sport without full-time officials? I could be wrong...I did not double-check.

Wrong...once the whistle blows the play is dead at that point...if it happend BEFORE any contact . I actually beleive the correct call would have been a neutral zone infraction..as they caused the offense to move....this is why I beleive the line judge blew his whistle early...with no call to make.

I don't think my last post was clear... the play wasn't stopped until after the contact.

If the whistle blew while Indy was in the neutral zone, before Pit moved and before contact was made there is NO penalty. I have no idea if this is the case...but it would explain why no penalty was called.
To state that it was incorrect with certainty would be wrong...unless you either have clarification of the call and/or heard the whistle clearly AFTER the contact or after Pitt moved with players in the neutral zone.
I could be wrong...but simply providing a possible explanation i.e. inadvertent whistle.

We'll simply have to give the refs a push on that play. That ole algebra call..two missed calls on both teams on the same play equals a correct call?

he clearly made the inteception, rolled over and knocked the ball out with his knee... thats funny jcrim...when the Superbowl was in Jaksonville a couple years ago, people were auctioning off their house (to rent) on that famous auction site because of the lack of hotel space... :hilarious

DOn't pack your bags yet...the blitz worked wonders against a pocket passer but Jake Plummer is just as effective rolling out and throwing on the run. This COULD neutralize the blitz and actually lead to big plays for Denver. This assumes Cowher and his spitting lantern chin will employ a blitz package against Plummer.
Weather could be a factor neutralzing this advatage Plummer may have against the blitz.
Probably a close game with Denver winning but not covering the 3.5 point spread. A field goal game........Denver wins.
You'll also need a ticket for the game...besides the room.

WOW..Carolina gets 5.5 points. Close game...again..could be field gaol even with Foster out with a broken ankle. I will take the 5.5 points though.
Better overall talent and coaching wins in the end.....even with Foster out. I somehow have yet to jump on the Hasslebeck band wagon. I see hin throwing a key interception. or two.
Carolina wins.....even without the points.
Weather.....probably rain.....
Perhaps those guys over at SI knew something when thay selected Carolina as the SB chanps in the preseason?
If it would be a Pitt/Carolina matchup...when is the last time two wildcard teams won all their playoff games on the road plus advanced to the Superbowl to represent each concference in the same year/SB? I gotta beleive that would be a first!
