IMO these products just mask the situation instead of fixing them, they also make skimmers go nuts. So i would find the source and rectify instead of just adding a bandaid.

Well it sure made my ASM froth like no tomorrow! lol, and still IMO fixing the problem all together is far better than "temporarily" fixing it.

One last word for me to put in for ... "Chris"

Chris do us all a favor and keep your "IMO"'s to yourself!
This product doesnt "mask" the sit. it gets rid of them in your tank ... that way you dont have to worry about too many fish or too much of this or that... you can have the beautiful reef that youve always wanted including the fish as well!
... so "IMO" you should keep yours to yourself... much like I DID in this reply.. otherwise some pretty bad things would have been said... so yeah, need I saw more
and BTW Sailfin and Daceman89... I COMPLETLY AGREE WITH YOU BOTH... ALGONE IS A GOOOODDDDD INDEEED PRODUCT!!!
Keep up the good work!
GOOD LUCK!

I lose a little bit of respect for anyone that doesn't want to hear another valid opinion.
That being said, I think ALGONE is just a temporary patch that just masks the real problem.

Well stated bang guy...algone can help correct a situation that is out of control but does nothing to address the problems that allowed things to get to that point. It is a band-aid for a severed limb in some cases.

Fine... in respect for these OPPIONS and for what you two are saying... what exactly do you mean by a mask... and what extra problems are you speaking of... If you have the Nitrates or whatever under controll... then what else is the problem... if youve got something producing them and then you get something that gets rid of them... what else is a problem?.... When cycling an aquarium you have Nitrates.. but then D.Bacteria comes into play and no more nitrates... then what is the difference between the bacteria and the Algone?
please explain... thanks!

It wasn't your opinion I had a problem with. It's a valid opinion, especially coming from an experienced user. It was the way you slammed down the other valid opinion.
Please continue supporting the product. Perhaps I'll be proven to be wrong about it. That would be a good thing. Thank you sharing your experience.

And also every human being have opinions, some of which you might disagree with, but out of common human respect, you should hold negative comment to yourself. This is not a flaming thread but it is a learning thread and every opinion IMO helps.
