i switched to the on your roof internet.it worked awesome for the first month, then started to go slow ,then it kept disconnecting.they came out and adjusted something with their laptop to the modem.i worked for a week then started getting worse.the tech came out and was checking everything again with his laptop.he said everything in the house works perfect.so he went outside.well, when the kid put the box on the roof and pointed it toward the tower.it was winter.spring flowers and such started to bloom and so did the leaves on the big tree in front of the box.so when the leaves kept growing the reception got worse.he had to move the box to the far side of the house and now it runs perfect and 10 times faster than the rip off verizon air card.

no there are towers around like cell towers they just point it at them .i live on a hill and you can see 4 of their towers.,i live 40 miles north west of fort worth and on a clear day we can barely see the city.pretty sweet veiw.this internet is really fast .$65 a month after all the taxes and everything unlimited.its nice to just leave it on all the time like dsl.it will be a long long time before we get cable or dsl around here.
probably the same where you live i'll bet.hows the new fishies doing? i got a few yesterday.by the time i got home the mystery wrasse was in bad shape and died.my fish guy said he will replace him.my multi color angel is doing awesome.i really hope he dont eat my corals when he gets in there.there is no way i will be able to catch him.

I suprised that you dont have satalite interent meow. Uses the satalite connection for downstream and the phone connection for upstream.
IPv4 is what we use here in the states and most of europe.
IPv6 is where we are going as they use that in asia and some places in europe. The big difference is the number of available IP addresses.
With IPv4 there are enough IP addresses for half of the people on the planet, 4,294,967,296 total. Not all of those addresses are usable either.
0.0.0.0
10.x.x.x
127.x.x.x
192.168.x.x
172.16 through 31.x.x
240 through 255.x.x.x
replace x with any number (0 through 255) and those are the private/military/broadcast addresses.
Obviously not everyone has internet access nor the need for a public IP. So toss out 3-4 billion people with no access at all. Of the 4 billion left who do have internet access, how many also have a cell phone? 2 phones? A game console hooked up? Internet connected TV or DVD? 1 PC? Laptops?
With IPv6, you will have aproximately 340,282,366,920,938,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ip addresses. More than enough for everyone to have 6 or 7 devices. I think someone worked out the math to see that there will be 100 ip addresses per square foot of land on the planet. As far as when will we change over? How long did japan have HD TV before we did? 10 years? more?
Sorry I wasnt on when you were having problems. GL with avast.

You get what you pay for. Its free right? As far as what do I use? Nothing other than Spybot search and destroy. I cannot remember the last time I had a problem with the PC with virii or malware. It doesnt mean I dont check it though. McAfee has a free online scan that will tell me if something is there. BitDefender has a free online scanner that will detect and clean any problems.
Hughes is the company that owns the satalites in space. It is apart of GM. Yes it was Howard Hughes' old company. All of the satalite TV companies are using the same satalites over Houston, the ones owned by Hughes. Direct TV used to offer satalite internet. Suprised that its not available to you out there.

Avast is free...yeah
Dish and Direct TV did not offer satellite last time I checked.....I have never checked with Hughes Net.....since I already have DSL, and have not heard good things about Hughes, I had no reason to check
I have ALWAYS used Norton......If I can use a free service, I would rather do that for now.....LOL
