Noisy Power Filter

I have a 350B Bio-Wheel filter that make so much noise we have to leave the room. I dont think it works like it used to either. I clean it several times still make lots of noise. I need something to help filter the stuff I have floating around the tank and ideas?

Have you taken the impeller out and cleaned it???

Ive cleaned and replaced it also

Can you describe the noise? I agree that the impeller is one of the most common performance and noise issues on power filters.

Its coming from the impeller area I'll take it out can look at it again

Check for sand too....

Is it still pumping water as well when I had two systems running peguins at my folks house during my move I found low water level seemsed to effect the effectiveness of the impelleras if it were some sort of preasure issue

Happened to one of mine, but wasn't that loud. The intake u-tube wasn't sitting snugly enough into the body. So I guess the noise was the pump sucking a tiny bit of air. If I moved the neck, it would change the sound. Solution was I wrapped the base of the neck with a strip of ziplock I cut, then reinserted it in to the filter so that the ziplock was acting like a gasket.
