For those many of you that have always contended that I did not have a leg to stand on when it came to the saltwater hobby, I would like to show you the new and improved Florida Joe. My bilateral knee replacement surgery was performed on the first of May. I had a spinal was walking with the aid of a walker 3 hrs. after surgery. Had PT the same day. Left the hospital on the 3[sup]rd[/sup]. have had in house pt. every day so far except Sunday. Will start out patient PT 3X a week for the next 4 weeks on the 14th Only used the walker for the first two days at home, never used a cane

Staples were taken out this morning.

Congratulations on the successful surgery! I was in the medical field for many years, and I've always observed that the patient's strength of character had a HUGE amount to do with the recovery time of many conditions.
And we all know what a character YOU are, Joe.
Seriously, I wish you a speedy and pain free recovery. Or as little pain as possible. Did you used to run before?

Glad to hear all is well. I was just thinking were did you ran off to. Serious speedy recovery, how ever are you going to catch meowzer if you don't.

Thanks all, yes I ran and practiced martial arts for many years. I have been dealing with knee problems for as long as I can remember. And Lois sorry they would not do the implant that we talked about

So what exactly did they do that made this so much easier then in days of old? I remember that this used to be a rather long recovery process.

Glad to read your recovering well. How much physical therapy are you doing? Seeing the picture of you standing alone tells me that you are doing just fine. Hip, knees and other Orthopedics is my specialty so if you have any questions let me know. Wow.... bilateral knees too. That can be rough

First time usually goes very well...Glad to see you up and about so fast. You didn't post beforehand what you were planning so we could scare you to death or anything, I feel so cheated....JK

Pal sorry for not answering your question about my therapy. I have been busy dealing with the pain I am allowed one 25mg oxy every 4 to 6 hrs but I am trying to get by with one every 24hrs (I hate the constipation and the zonked feeling ). As far as the therapy on the day of surgery they had me on a walker and to my first session about 4hrs after surgery. The next day it was two sessions one at 9am and one at 2pm. on Thursday the day of my release again 9 and 2. Friday my in house therapist came sessions Friday, Saturday. Then once a day from Monday to Sat. I am off today Sunday and start my outpatient therapy on Monday 3X a week. Have been told that should last from 4 to 6 weeks. I would greatly appreciate any expertise you can bring to the table.

Came out years ago, are you looking for some words of encouragement BTW your the dog groomer right ? Just for the record I have to thank you for the vast
knowledge on the hobby you bring to the table. keep up the good work
