Now that had to hurt.

It looks like my clown fish pissed off one of the tangs as evident by the fresh wound They do not call them surgeonfish for nothing.
The scalpels like blade at the base of their tail fins are formidable weapons

Yesterday after acclimating my yellow tang, I reached in with my hand to pull him out and place him in my tank and remembered just in time about the spines.

Yeah, they hurt. I had a Naso tang fin me one time.
What are you going to do about it?
Interesting question. Do I have a moral reasonability to do something? After all I am the clowns’ keeper. Do I have the obligation to allow nature to deal with the situation has it sees fit. I do not see any ongoing aggression between the tangs and the clown. In the absence of any signs of infection at the wound site. I will just let nature take its course. I am always in amassment at how fast fish heal from wounds just as this. I will continue to post pics

more than likely no.
We have three tangs and they butt smack these smaller fish that irritate them from time to time. The sail fin get these scratches on him from darting in and out of the rocks and by the next day is fine.
Joes clowns laceration looked pretty deep.
