See also:
% % McCain Obama
American Research Group 8/30 - 9/1 - 43 - 49 - 6
USA Today/Gallup 8/30-31 - 43 - 50 - 7
CBS News 8/29-31 - 40 - 48 - 8
CNN/Opinion Research 8/29-31 - 48 - 49 - 1
Diageo/Hotline 8/29-31 - 39 - 48 - 9
Week prior average was 3pt lead.
This is difficult to read, tried adjusting... first #'s are dates...#'s beginning with 4's (43) are McCain, 2nd set of #'s are Obama... and 3rd set is the diff.
See all you have to say is according to cbs news obama has an 8 pt lead

How hard is that?
But imo if you really want to know why palin was a good pick was watching the roar of the crowd, they were truely excited. I can't think of a candidate that would have gotten these republicans more excited. I think people underestimated the displeasure within the republican party of nominating McCain. She solidifies alot of the base. And imo more a play for the conservative base than a play for the hillary vote. I really do think McCain has attracted all that will cross over and vote republican that would actually do that. I think McCain covers that base...

That poll because it is usually the most accurate. The other polls tend to poll in certain areas, these areas tend to have a slight democratic lean usually. Remember last election all the polls had Kerry winning, then what happened. Only Zogby had Bush ahead slightly.
Here is a link to the latest poll, taken after the VP nomination of Palin.

Still a statistical tie. This is going to be a very interesting election.
Thank you for the link Darth.

Poll lead or not, I think a lot of the Dem's are going to skip the vote. My own in-laws are sitting this one out because they cannot cast the vote for Obama, yet they are Democrats. I just grin b/c that's 2 less votes. So there may be a lot of others out there that give the polls the Democratic thumbs up, but if they don't show up on election day, who cares?

Zogby targets likes the likely voters vs registered voters poll. Tends to be more accurate
others poll both, but usually you hear registered voters poll reported.
That link was the newest poll I saw from Zogby, however I was hoping to find a daily tracker. Maybe he doesn't do that.

Couple of other things I noticed last night during the speech...
1. Was that a protestor that was being dragged out? Couldn't really tell, but they showed enough to see that something was going on.
2. Anybody see Palin's youngest daughter holding the baby? She licks her entire hand and then slicks her brother's hair down
Guess she's seen Mom do it.

Clinton and Reagan both never worked in D.C. before their elections. As a matter of fact historically most of our presidents never worked in D.C.

yawn,
when a presidential candidate has to come back and say he has more experience than the opponent's VEEP. Because he has run a campain for 2 years. Then you know he has almost no ground to stand on...

There's is like monthly... but If found 2, done by Zogby... In looking at the all the polls... I think this was the only one that had McCain up.. one was by 1 and the other I think by 4.... but before you jump for joy...
The other polls targeted likely voters, whereas some targeted registered... it would seem to me that you could throw this poll out it seem abnormal... just like the poll that would give Obama a 10pt lead.

I don't vote. I never have and I probably never will. I think the entire voting system is corrupt anyway. That is why the electoral college is in place. To vote for us because they know what the american public wants....
Uh sure.
I do have my opinions. I don't always agree with democrats or republicans but I definitely don't believe they have my best interests at heart. We'll see what happens in the next couple of years.

seriously do you read my posts? I think that is what I said, zogby is a big fan of likely voters polls. While alot of other ones do both. And typically you find that the one that is broadcast is alot of the time the registered voters. I also said I don't really buy into the polls anyway either way.

For me its not about washington... its more about the isolation of Alaska...
But put that aside also..
The question is what does she bring to the table? What will her role be? Is she prepared if something were to happen to McCain? Her foreign policy exp is 0.. she has not even left the country... perhaps except for once in her lifetime... Working in Washington by itself is not a good criteria by itself.

no I read your post, but you didn't read mine...or I didn't get my point across... Zogby is not the only poll that registers likely voters... and there are also poll that register more people...
For example:
USA Today/Gallup Poll
McLaughlin & Associates
Ipsos Public Affairs poll.
Research 2000 for news media clients
Time Poll
Quinnipiac University Poll.
ABC News/Washington Post Poll.
CBS News Poll.
American Research Group Poll
All these polls use likely voters nationwide..

Agreed... but why sit at home... if they are democrats they should vote that way... otherwise at least vote for someone... these are the same people who will complain if McCain wins and continues to take the country in the wrong direction.

Yeah, because she is running for president.
The debate is not between Obama and Palin's experience. But between McCain's and Obama's. But hey you know, Obama does have experience running a large campain...
“Well, my understanding is that Governor Palin’s town of Wasilla has, I think, 50 employees. We’ve got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. So I think that our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the last couple of years,” Obama said.

You really don't, you just keep talking. I do believe that is what I just said.

I can't either... I'm a Canadian with a Green Card.
But also... having to choose between the lesser of 2 evils is really no choice at all.
If I ever get the opportunity to vote, I want to vote for the person I want to be president..... not vote for one that I don't care for to try and prevent the one I REALLY dislike from getting in. If there was a "please provide another choice of candidates" box, I would vote in a heart beat (if I was a citizen).
I guess we can hope they have some good puppeteers.
