Nudibranch Eggs

My 2 lettuce nudibranch's laid those spiral egg sacs all over the place - the back glass, the rocks, etc. However, they never hatched. After about a week of sitting there, they would disintegrate and just blow away.
I mean...there were new sacs every few days after a while.
Do you know why these didn't take? Is it a fertilization issue? I suppose I could have had 2 very fertile females, and no male to fertilize the eggs...
However, it is cool to see nonetheless.

The disintegrating after a week was the eggs hatching. They were fertile & they probably hatched just fine. The larvae are free swimming & float around on the currents. If the larvae get caught in a refugium or some other protected place then every once in a while a couple will survive & grow up to be adults. The typical reef tank has too many powerheads & hungry mouths but it still happens once in a while.

I didn't think they would hatch that fast...interesting...well I guess I fed my fish pretty well then, as no babies ever made it.
