there are two basic types of nuclear bombs - fissionable and radioactive.
fissionable bombs create a chain reaction that creates a huge implosion and then sends up the mushroom cloud .... for a good basic description read the end of tom clancy's sum of all fears. the process requires specialized nuclear material - which is not readily available - unless you find an old nuclear war head lying around ....
the second kind of nuclear bomb is a "dirty" bomb - an explosion that scatters radioactive debries around the area of explosion .... there are a lot of psyhcological pieces out there that bio terror would be more effective on causing a panic ...
the fact of the matter is an average everyday run of the mill moronic terrorist can blow up a building - check cnn and hte padilla case .....
yes you can ship stuff in on shipping manifests in large crates .... as some evening news shows have done ....
can you get a highly specified, deeply scientific nuclear bomb to explode on US soil by smuggling it into the country? Possible but not probable ....
if you want to sit and worry about that then go for it ..... lord knows our government is not too worried or we would be dealing with Iran, Pakistan, N. Korea and India's building nuclear power ..... now that I worry about!

Several former soviet block country sell or sold several of their nuclear bombs. Another possiblility is not a nuclear explosion but an explosing involving nuclear materials to cause a fallout. As stated above. It would just be a matter of rewiring the warhead to a remote or timer or getting nuclear materials and some explosives. Pretty complicated rewiring I hear probably take some kind of specialist to do it. Securing that in some kind of lead shielding to keep it off the satellite survellance that constantly look for nuclear materials. Granted we are not talking a small payload in a briefcase. Next you have to move that payload secretly across multiple jurisdictions and get it across our borders. Emmigrants do it all of the time from canada and mexico. Or you can come across the great lakes in a boat. Move that payload to a heavily populated area like New york, denver, LA, etc. Granted we don't police the borders between states that well. But the weight of the device I think would set off the highway sensors that moniter truckers and their weight in at state borders. And set it off. It would take a lot of planning and a lot of time. It is highly unlikely but not improbable. I watch way to many fiction movies. We literally outline it for them it's crazy.

And if it does happen I definitely will be asking the following question "Whose bomb nuclear material was it?" Because each countries nuclear materials have a slightly different nuclear spectrum allowing us to know who made the bomb originally. And they had better be able to explain themselves.

Why? We can't. Heck who do you think gave many nations there WMD to begin with? Theres numerous american active nuclear bombs that have gone missing. Theres actually one just off the coast of the Carolina's... sitting about 20' under the sand. That our great government has stated "its not worth the effort to retrieve as its unlikely someone will find it".
Yep, Germany has intercepted a staggering number of attempted smuggling of weapons grade plutonium from Russia... I'm sure none ever got through since they caught so much though
Actually Russia has even stated that about a decade ago, that a LARGE suite case nukes went missing. Several American reporters have smuggled significant amounts of radioactive material into our ports to test our security. Than again, some of the known major figures in the nuclear black market are still active, and won't be touched due to political reasons. Heck even Libya has just announced that some smuggled nuclear equipment they purchased is a few months late in delivery... and they don't know what happened to it. Regardless though, I think I'd be more concerned with a biological attack here than a chemical or nuclear attack... and honestly. I'm not really concerned about it. The odds are still ridiculously small, etc., etc., etc.... There are so many other things in life to enjoy instead of fretting!!!
What does/or did worry(not anymore) me though, is how will America "as a nation" respond to the next terror attack. No one can deny that even the liberal media partially embraced God after this, church attendance skyrocketed, we as a nation prayed..... and where are we now?
Ezekiel 28 is an interesting comparison....
As a nation we've attacked God like no other time in history, church attendance has falled below pre 9/11 levels, etc.
One could pull up some intriguing historical case studies of nations who've reached where we have... and denounced God for another religion... atheism (which according to the supreme court is a religion-ironic huh) and what happened to them. Particuarly after they were warned... they did just what we did... than forgot.. were warned again, than instead of embracing God... they embraced...
Thats the only thing that concerns me. I mean how can people say God Bless America...when as a nation we've renounced him? Biblically-historically what is his reaction towards nations that do that?
Also remember during the cold war, people actually had home made "fall out shelters", nuke practice drills in schools, etc... We don't have that again yet... one could presume that we live in a lot less fear than, and that the chances are even more remote.

I am assuming that you are counting combatants among those 14 million. 6 million Jews, Women, Children, Old men...non-combatants.

actually no, there were six million jews, a few million gypsies, a few million handicapped or "useless" people, a few million homosexuals, and a few million catholics, among a few million other random non-aryans and his opposition in his death camps..

OK, this thread convinced me, I just watched the nick berg video for the first time... I am not one who likes watching anything of that sort, when i was watching nick talking about his family my stomach was starting to knot up, but by the end of the video, I was laughing. It is TERRIBLE. HAHA When I was in 6th grade I made a horror movie with my friends, when our screwdriver weilding serial killer (my friend jake) killed the doctor, (my friend nick) It was about three times as convincing as this nick berg crap.
If you look really closely at nick throughout the whole video, you will notice something, I'm not sure, but i think he is on a blue screen.
Perhaps the funniest part is when the "arab" who is reading the paper flips the page, reads about four sentances, looks at the paper, realizes it is upside down, and flips it back!!
HAHAHA.
Also, Nick starts screaming, and his mouth doesn't move.
weird.
might be a problem during the encode, might be a total fake!

This is kind of on topic, but evolution seems cold and heartless, right? The cute little kittie that was born blind due to a genetic defect will be cared for and nurtured by a human, possibly even bred to spread this defect.

Yea ok, nuking that region would be like scratching poison ivy, sure it would be great, almost orgasmic, but soon the hatred for the US will spread until there is more US haters than supporters. We might even be at that point now. needless to say nukes are not the answers now slowly and methodically dismantling that region into our plaything is the answer. Take out the people in power and force them to turn on themselves, yes, yes take away their identities and force them to find new identities in the image of the united states, yes. soon we will be the new allah. oh wait i haven't slept in 2 days disregard everything above. I'm sorry.
