I don't know if this is the place to ask this or not but did anyone order from ocean gardens and what are you thoughts about them because the snails I orders don't look great at all (not sure if they will be ok) and the fish I got was found dead This morning after being released into the aquarium last night with box being deliverd about 5 oclock pm.
I know this is a part of saltwaterfish.com and i am a customer of them for years now and just a little bit dissatisfied about about filing a claim 5hours after delivery to recieve credit when specimen was found much later :(
I would just like to recieve a new fish or refund for the items and I can't just keep reordering and I like saltwaterfish.com and the forums since (with another name) been around since mr salty and Beth
were here as mods. I don't have a picture of the fish for them to refer too and I understand thier rules but would be nice to get a replacment or refund:).

Boy if this isn’t a perfect SWF.com commercial ..LOL
The Oceans Garden folks have a “false” guarantee, they tell you that if your water is PERFECT and not to blame for your critters death, they will refund the money or grant in store credit. Your water is NEVER perfect period. No matter what your numbers, they say it is not perfect for that critter.
Aside from DOA within the 5 hour time slot you are just stuck. Any guarantee is better than a LFS…the moment you walk out of the store you have no guarantee. So to have one on DOA isn’t really too bad, but it sure isn’t SWF.com.

I did not get a reply from them on my second email so most likely there will be no refund :( and I also thought that on this forum or another someone also got a box were they had snails and fish did not arrive to well either.
The company advertises on swf.com
I don't believe I will be purchasing from them again and even thinking about not making a order from here again aswell.

Well if you think it's part of here, why don't you call here and talk to them about it. I wouldn't just quit ordering like that. I recommend picking up your package in the early morning. Saves your animals a lot of stress, especially in temps where it is too warm for a heat pack and cold enough to lower your water temp by the time you get them. How did you acclimate them anyways?

My LFS gives me a guarantee 5 days after purchase. I lost 5 turbo snails and a kole tang before and they gave me credit. I have a good friendship with the fish guy though so that helps

There are two snails moving one on each side of the aquarium but the others are at the bottom and not doing much yet.
I was starting a new aquarium (another one) so it could be my fault and I would not stop buying from ocean gardens because of this post or (swf.com) the package was at fed ex for awhile on a delivery exception but don't know if it's that either.
It would of been nice to get a refund on fish because I bought alot here and can't reorder again the delivery cost is too high for that unless it's a large order and shippng is free or low.

I really don't understand why a company like that is able to advertise on swf.com anyways.

Isn't Ocean Gardens a subsidiary of SWF? I remember about them starting (or buying) a new company that emphasized conservation, or something similar.

I have never noticed Oceans Garden advertizing on this site????

I have had nothing but good success with SWF.com . Once I had an order of emerald crabs, 1 had arrived DOA, they were sold as a group of three, they gave me a refund for the entire group. All I wanted was for them to keep a record and add an emerald crab on my next order. So they outdid what I asked of them.
I have also ordered form other sites with only one incident. An order was very late..When I called to find out what was wrong. The people said they were out of one of my items and they were waiting for it to come in. First off, if an item is out of stock say so or remove it from the for sale list, and second why not ship what you can, and third…why not at least e-mail or call me to ask what I wanted them to do under the circumstances.
That would never happen at SWF.com unfortunately they don’t ever have things like purple sea fans, purple feather duster clusters or purple corky finger gorgonians. For the unusual I have to try other sites and hope for the best. I do shop SWF first to see if they have something I want before I even consider going elsewhere.
The LFSs around me do not have any type of guarantee, if it dies in the bag on the way home I am just out of luck, even If I were to turn the car around and go back to the store and the critter was still in its original bag with their logo. As soon as I left the store the sale is as is and there will be no in store credit or refund period.
I am waiting at the door when my shipments arrive, no matter who I order from. My critters do not stay in a bag, not one second longer than they absolutely must. If I were working I would take a vacation day so I would be home. I hate the hassles of asking for refunds, and I hate seeing a critter die. That’s just me and I know others can’t do that, but it just might be why I have very little loss in such matters. I have ordered in the dead of winter and the middle of summer.

I've bought all my livestock online for years and will never do it any other way. I don't get Fed-Ex deliveries until 3PM or so. I always have my fish sent c/o a nearby "hold at location" Fed-Ex location. You can get your stuff there at 9AM.

LOL...If I were to do that, with as many shipments as I get....I think it would be called retirement instead of vacation
