LOL...YES...the cap comes off....and I have tried it off, pushed in, placed on lightly.....

If this is on your 225g, it probably won't be good enough and I know peeps will look down on this, but I love my cheesy little Prizm skimmer.
It's easy to adjust, no leaks, and makes great skimmate. (so pretty)

NO...this is on my 54G....
I'll tell you what, I had less problems with my Seaclone

You might just have to break the rules and go to the "Big Site" and ask. Jeremy works for RS and sells Oct skimmers and maybe able to help. I know, I know but

I've seen a few people fix their pump problem by simply raising the pump higher in the water. cutting the line and making it shorter so the pump itself is up higher.

I have the eshopps PSK-75H. Its pretty quiet and took about 48 hours before it started skimming. Seems to be doing the job although the directions on assembling it kinda sucked. I've never had another skimmer so I cant say if this is better than others or not but I'm happy with it.

OK...I spent 2 days on the phone with the JERK company I bought it from
I took it off...took out that dumb gray sponge at the bottom of the out take tube....(it was nasty) Took off the silencer and added a screw on type air controller (as suggested by the jerk)
NOTHING has worked...I think the bubbles are even worse now
ONE THING I may have found out.....the water in the skimmer may be too high....DOES ANYONE KNOW how to lower it....the jerk did not....
If I do not find how to fix this.....I have a $130 piece of trash for someone....LOL

ok so I had a problem with skimmers too! it's ok

AQUA C REMORA is money! Quiet and effective!

I simply will not look at another skimmer!

I did not the other day cause I called this jerk (LOL) and he suggested a few things for me to try.....
