I know adults are more experienced and therefore more intelligent when it comes to life and decision making. This does not however ALWAYS put them in an authority position. For example, on this public forum teens are equals to every older member except for moderators.

What words did I put in your mouth? I said the difference between today's teen years and my teen years is technology....just because technology has advanced does not mean adults can't understand what teens are going through in this day and age. In my day, a CD player in your car was the "in" thing to have...now days it is an "ipod"...so what has changed to make it different other than the technology?

There you go putting words in my mouth again. I never said that adults can't relate to teenagers from this day. I said that teenagers know themselves better than adults know teenagers. You know yourself better than I know you.

You can come up with any witty excuse you see fit but you look like a complete moron arguing with kids probably half your age. Who cares what point your trying to get across. You will never win as they are kids and you will continue to make yourself look more and more ignorant for spending your Friday night on a internet forum arguing with teenagers about being teenagers.

I think maybe you are missing my point. Just because someone is a teenager I would never assume I can't learn from them. By the same token you shouldn't sell your parents short on being able to relate to what you are going through.
As far as being in a position of authority over you that job is left up to your parents and school officials, or those with a badge
. All I am saying is when someone with superior experience talks you should listen but not necessarily obey.
One thing about these boards that I think is really cool is it does give you youngsters the chance to interact with adults as equals. IME the "kids" on not just this one but most of the reef boards are for the most part exceedingly mature compared to the general population of kidom
