I have fond memories of the snow, I lived in MO when I was 8 until I was 13. So I never had to drive it in. Just grab the sled and go. Yes Sammy I remember one day after a snow ball fight trying to warm up my hands with hot water. Never did that again.
A number of years ago my CA born and raised wife and I went up to the snow. I showed her how to slide down a hill on the back of her jacket. She just stood at the top of the hill while I kept trying to get her to slide down. I could tell by the look on her face that she finally thought "OK I will do it just to shut him up" She slid down and did not move, she just laid there. I ran over to her thinking "Great she must have hit her head on a rock under the snow" When I got there she just laughing her butt off.
I used to love to wake up and see the white blanket of snow, then run to the radio to see if the schools were closed. Hoping that they were. Makes no sense now, because we just had to make up the days at the end of the school year and make summer that much shorter.
