that is soo cool, but for 20 k or so you could build your own kit plane, and get a real pilot license.

Thats freaking cool bro, but for that money can you contact the army and maybe you can lease one of those Military Drones and blow some stuff up as well? hahahahahah

I could think of a few things I could do with 20k.....A remote control jet just wouldn't be one.....BUT if that is what you are into....go for it

Where are you getting 20K? There's two or three people I work with that have been flying R/C's for years, and they got into Jet's a couple years ago. One has a jet very similar to the one in the YouTube video, and I think he has $3K to $4K in it. I wouldn't start out in jets if you want to get into the hobby, since it takes a pretty experienced 'pilot' to get one of these bad boys airborne and flying like you see in the video. I can say it's wild watching them fly. One of the guys let me take the controls of his once he had it going, and I flew it for about 5 minutes without wrecking it. The problem with jets are that they are so quick, you have to have excellent reaction times, and calculate WAY ahead of time when to turn or maneuver. Not to mention, you can get screwed up trying to remember that the controls change when the plane is coming at you, and when it's going away from you. If you're interested in the hobby, go online and look for an R/C club in your area. Almost every person I've met in that hobby welcome newcomers, and will assist you with everything you need to know to get started. Here's an example of some of the jet kits that are available:

It was posted on one of my Motorcycle boards. I think there are turbo fans and then the true turbo jet engines but not sure. There was a video of just one of the engines that someone said cost about $5k.

Just going by what I was reading and could very well be wrong. I was mostly joking about getting into jets. I've never flown one of the beginner models so no way I'd try one of these yet. I'll check out those links though. Would be cool to see what's really out there. Thanks!

Just like this saltwater hobby, you can go overboard on R/C's as well. I've looked at one of the catalogs, and there are jet turbines that go for $4,000 - $5,000 each. If you have a jet like the one in the video, you'd need two, so....

Hey, I checked out those links and good to know you can do this rather reasonably. Thanks for the links. I've always wanted to get into -- planes. I might have to look at some of the starters.
