So I'm needing some blue in my tank, right now I have quite a bit of red, yellows, and orange color. Would love a blue fish or something on the blue side of the spectrum
...I'm creating a reef tank eventually, so the fish would definately need to be "reef friendly". In my tank now is 1 tomato clown, yellow watchman, 2 firefish gobies, orange fan sponges, bullseye pistol shrimp. So can anyone think of anything "blueish" to put in the tank to add some color? Its a 55 gallon, would love a hippo tang but I know it is not feesible for tank size.

You're right!
Blue Hippo - too small a tank
Blue Damsel - almost guaranteed to eventually be the target of your Clown
How about a Fridmani Dottyback? - easy to care for, beautiful blue, reef safe... He will go after Peppermints though so he might eat your bullseye.

I absolutely LOVE my yellow tailed damsel. it honestly is a very good tankmate, beautiful color, and a very active swimmer.
and since people are probably thinking i'm being sarcastic, i truly am not. the fish is a very nice addition.

What size is your tank?
The fridmani (orchid dottyback) is much more of a purple than blue and Ive heard they like to hide in the rocks a lot (like the blackcap basslet).
I plan to get a cherub (pygmy) angel when I start my new tank. He is blue with a yellow face.

my yellow tail was always picked on by my 3 stripe damsel, until my eel got them both =[
the yellow tail was very nice, never bugged my clowns, the 3 stripe was the aggressive one
im looking at getting a bi color angel pretty soon, nice blue color since i have the same problem as you, all reds and yellows and nothing blue to balance it out

the solar wrasse is blue, small, and reef safe. i had a bicolor angel for awhile and he was gorgeous, but he became a coral nipper.

I wouldn't do damsels... The yellowtail are supposed to be less aggressive but mine killed my sixline within 24 hours of adding him so I would say no to damsels. The coral beauty is a great choice along with a cherub angel. I really like the male leopard wrasses and red head solon fairy wrasses.

DUDE you should put a Bluechin trigger... they are real nice and REEF SAFE!!
My tank has too much blue..haha

The yellow belly damsel are decent but small...
Also how about a sharp- nose puffer?? Although he may mess with your reefs..
look closely in the rocks and you will see him chillin...haha
