OK, now this is WAY overboard for paying for a dog

I guess if you can afford it but I can think of a lot better way to blow half a million clams than on a bad sweater wrapped around a mutt.

I agree...there are too many other dogs needing homes that are just as nice, or would be just as good guard dogs to spend that much money on one

I don't understand why she didn't just come to the west to buy one? I don't understand that story at all. What made that dog so special? The article never tells you!

What I got out of the article was they are Excellent guard dogs

lol...so are german shepherds and you can probably get a good one free

I am guessing the price has to do with the bloodline of the dog. If it can be traced back to the origin of the species or something.... Still, I can't see ever spending that much on a dog, even if I had cash coming out my butt. For that much she could have kept a shelter in operation for a few years.

About right I'd guess... Platinum Arowana's are in the $90,000-$100,000 range, assuming the much larger market for dogs over fish, $500,000 would sound about right.....

Dogs are a lot easier to come by and breed than high quality Aro's tho!
