Ok, this study of global warming/climate change is going to far.

i thought everyone knew that cows farted a lot ? maybe now they got a solid number ? what would be sweet is to get pigs to fart helium and strap one of those contraptions to it

I think that's on the right track, actually; if it can be rigged into a fuel producing devise, then our gas prices would go back to the good ole days of .50 cents a gal.

There's a farmer down the road from me that built a Methane collector. He runs a generator and his tractors off the methane produced.

hmmm, So when are they going to figure out that water vapor traps more heat than basically everything else combined. And quit wasting money trapping cow farts?
I wonder how explosive those things are....

The thing is if you buy into the man made global warming thing this is a very important study. Methane as a greenhouse gas is 21 times more potent than CO2. Since the begining of the industrial revolution CO2 concentrations have increased about 30%, Methane 150%.
I really doubt they will find methane to be a major contributor though. Things like cattle and rice production are major sources of methane emissions. They can't pin that on the US and extort money from we the taxpayers because the United States is not a leading producer of either.

That's preposterous! Your bill to eliminated your nasty 'carbon footprint' is in the mail. How many miles did you drive again...?

I personally don't care about the "Global Warming" side of things, but it definitely is a good idea to harness that energy if we can. It can certainly be used for fuel. Think about how many cows there are in the US, and if even a fraction of them had one of these on, it would definitely help power grid usage if it were carted on over to a facility to burn for power or something....
