ok, what is this?

bought some live rock about 2 months ago. started seeing this stuff on one of the rocks about a week later. now its spreading to other rocks. is it something i need to be worried about? the rock in the picture is about the size of a softball. the "hairs" are about 1/4 in long (some of them anyways). thanks in advance

i was gonna grab a lawnmower blenny. if its hydroid, ide have to take out about 50 lbs of well established live rock and kill it all.

If you can find one a frilly nudibranch eats hydroids or the Alabster Nudibranch, "Dirona albolineata". However, I've never seen one for sale online but a person locally sells them. Unfortuneately I have lost their business card but still have the phone# PM me if you want it, its local to NE Texas

If not, you can take that rock out of the tank and use a new soft bristled brush and brush them off. Or wait for them to die off.

I am trying to find out what their food source is. Once that is gone they will die off....hopefully someone will also chime in

Great....my tank is cycling. I have a few pieces of live rock and one of them has the same things on them!! I've done a couple of water changes to try to keep the critters alive and now I find out I should be trying to kill them!

BTY---JAXFishGirl---love your dog!! Is it a boxer? I'm on my 3rd boxer now and she is spoiled rotten. Sorry....off subject.
